Botelho & Craig done for year. Scrauth a few weeks

Man, that's an interesting theory. And certainly could be the case.

That really stings. Denbrock trying to do the right thing, but it potentially may have burned us. Hindsight is always 20/20.
I'm sure Freeman would've also been involved in a major strategic decision like that. But maybe they'll take a different approach next time something like that happens, who knows.

Well, we know he hurt his labrum in his non throwing shoulder early in that game, and it’s been repeated that he was given shots into the shoulder during the game. So I tend to agree with sjb75 that they decided to eliminate designed runs like we saw in the first drive, and protect his shoulder until they had a better assessment of the damage. They obviously opined this was still the best option to win the game. I also agree that they should have benched him at that point and played Angeli. Of course, if Greathouse makes that easy TD catch, then I wouldn’t be second guessing Denbrock with the benefit of 20-20.

Did we have something to do with Wake Forest cancelling on Ole Miss?

Wake is playing Oregon State that weekend instead of Ole Miss. ND already has a very challenging schedule in 2025. NDwill be breaking in a new QB. They need a layup to open theyear
Right you are! Wake announced that it was in their best financial interest to cancel the Ole Miss game and schedule with Oregon State. That really surprises me, but I feel like I understand the business side of college football less and less with each passing year.

As I looked at 2025 in more detail, I noticed that Syracuse is currently scheduled for 5 OOC games, including us. I bet we have already talked to them about moving the game to another year so that we have room for that early season layup you referenced.

Take Purdue off the schedule

That's probably the only way a Purdue fan can save face. After a true ass-walloping like Saturday, gloating over ND grudgingly joining the Big Ten at some point against their own better aspirations,
Well, it was an ass-whipping of Biblical proportions but my comments were not meant to 'save face." If you read through some of my previous posts here, I have been saying that the writing is on the wall for USC dropping ND for several weeks.

Insofar as ". . . ND grudgingly joining the Big Ten . . ." it would seem to be a welcome relief compared to this quasi-independent deal that you have with the badly-troubled ACC. With USC dropping ND and Stanford joining the ACC, the only annual rival you'll have left is Navy.

Vyper- KVA?

Damn. You see any pathway where he becomes an impact DE?
This is just my opinion, but no, not even close. Watch his reps. He engages with the left tackle and stays engaged. He's got a lower center of gravity than most Vypers so he doesn't get moved off the ball a ton, he's just unable to shed a block, or blow past a block and make a play.

Now, i fully expect him to be the 2nd DE this week, and get a crack and making plays, so we'll see. He was 2nd string DE last year.

Last year he played 157 snaps at DE to botelho's 400, and traore's 17. Junior did not have one sack or TFL. He had 10 total tackles on the season, a few of those were special teams (maybe even half).

If there's a point where our ends are Junior and Oben, i'm concerned.
