Best LB group in ND history

Best LB corp in a long time? Well sure. Best ever, no chance. Bolcar, Pritchett, and Stonebreaker in 88, along with Frank Stams, with 5 top 10 wins on the way to the Natty in 88.
Born in 1993 so didn’t get to see these guys. I read Lou Holtz’s book in reference to this season and I wish I could have seen these guys. I remember Stonebreaker being mentioned countless times.

Do you think this an all time LB core in CFB history?

Kelly getting taken to the woodshed

It’s not even so much about him leaving for another team. I honestly couldn’t have cared less about that. Go make your money. It was the way that he did it and the pot shots he took in doing so. Fvck that guy

Respect for Marcus Freeman

I haven't paid close attention to ND since he took over, but I'm completely sold on that man as a coach after last night:

Strong game plan, put his guys in position, inspired them to play 60 mins, and out-coached us while thinking on his feet in the final moments.

But the sticking point was watching his body language and demeanor throughout the contest and in the handful of in-game interviews. You can tell that guy has a strong, sharp mind, and a fiery competitive edge that infects his team.

I've got nothing but confidence in Kirby going forward, but Freeman is #2 on my list of college coaches now. Impressive.

Congrats!
Chew Dawg, thanks for stopping by here after the game. Always appreciate reasoned discussions with fans of other teams, because it often provides insights we don't have.

And condolences to Coach Smart and the Dawg Nation on the passing of Kirby's father. It is one thing to lose a football game--there will plenty more of those to win in the future. But you only have one dad. I expect the support of his family, his team, and the University of Georgia and its many good fans will carry him through this.

RIP.

No… we had to blitz lbs more than we did all season

The dline played very gap sound, but did not win many battles other than against their LT.

I’m not trying to discredit the line, they played hard and better than I thought they would. But we blitzed almost every play. Many times bringing 2. Now, insane credit on being gap sound and not letting them bust runs. Georgia was vey gap sound against us other than qb runs, nd stopped Stockton running. Georgia interior was pushing back our ol, we were not doing ther to Georgia. Cross didn’t register a tackle.
ND BLITZED 29.5 % of the time, on 18 out of 61 plays
ND didn’t blitz 70.5 % of the time

Meaning that the D line played great

I'm just trying to talk football about my favorite team with fellow passionate fans. You dont like my opinions of Notre Dame, you disagree with my opinions, but can't counter the points I make on an intellectual level because they are sound points with good logic and evidence. so instead you attack me on a personal level, and try to derail the conversation and discredit me, etc. that's certainly your right. i would just ask that you look at the bigger picture. we all benefit when we have a welcoming community where people feel free to express their opinions about the football team no matter how different/negative/positive they may be.
A fan doesn't continuously criticize a program, especially after they beat a top tier team and are two wins away from a national championship. 128 teams in the FBS failed to get as far as ND has.
16 teams in the BIG 10 and 15 teams in the SEC failed to do what ND accomplished in 2024

You've been running your mouth for years on here. You cant breakdown tape, scheme and dont have any coaching or playing background to know what you are watching at an educated football level and cant offer any analysis and you cant evaluate talent. You copy & paste what someone else wrote and cite as your homework. Atleast ive played, scouted, gameplanned (albeit at the highschool level) and ive never claimed to be expert like you have or would never claim to know more than posters like echo who have played D1. You're a little sh!t & my honest guess is you're a troll that has no life and this is how you get your kicks.

You know nothing about me. Nothing whatsoever. Besides that fact, some of the best general managers (guys who analyze the leagues they are in, evaluate, forecast, invest millions in talent, etc.) never played organized sports. It's a different skill set entirely.
