With all the woe is us clap trap on this board re recruiting why was ND 2 plays away from going undefeated with half their defense on crutches and playing with 3rd string fr qb and a 3 star safety @ RB .

The two losses of course were to the # 2 and #4 teams in the country on their home fields . Take away Rochell face mask penalty and a drop by Robinson v Clemson and ND goes 12-0 . Not bad for a "second tier "recruiting program .

If we have J Jones - Tranquil , Crawford , Russell , Folston and Zaire we kick Stanford and Clemson's ass -- kick their ass and play Alabama for the Naty !!

OK but take away the ball that Mr. Butterfingers Virginia linebacker dropped for an easy walk in 6 on one of DK initial throws and we lose that game. Anybody who watched how putrid BVG "D" played at times is concerned - 2 years of empirical evidence. Clemson shut down their offense during that second half of that game.

Well the Ohio State game was played with a first time starting corner who was replacing a 3rd string corner, no Redfield, no Tillery, Grace replacing Jaylon Smith, and no Prosise. Despite outrageous turnovers, the game was still competitive. Ohio State played a 2nd and 3rd string team.

Until we recruit a 5* S & C coach we will continue to under perform and have multiple 'preventive' injuries!! I think FINALLY Coach Kelly is seeing this as a HUGE issue!!

The OSU game says it all plus Alabama 2012! We are a top 10-15 team,who tries to do it right in a sea of inequity. Nothing more and nothing less! You need a Lou Holtz, Urban Meyer, or Jim Harbaugh type of coach to go to the next level! Coach Kelly works hard at it and is willing to change,however he has not been able to win enough big games to build recruiting momentum! He is the best since Lou and has more University support than Holtz ever had! Let's all hope we will see greatness again?JMHO

This is only true if things occurred in a vacuum, that is if the LB makes the interception and scores then the rest of the game would have to remain the same. Cause and effect dictates that the entire game would have to change, and the outcome can't be determined based on that one event. (Insert Sci-Fi time travel reference here)
