WHO WAS THE MORON

I disagree. If coaches can go on a whim players should be able to also.
I hear what you're saying. What bothers me about the transfer rules today is that makes the rich richer. Schools like Oregon and North Carolina who both had decent seasons are losing their 5 star kids. And I don't think they're going to transfer to Uconn and New Mexico.

I wouldn't be opposed to waiving the one year transfer rule if the head coach of your program gets fired or takes a job elsewhere, but man that would make it tough on the new coach coming in.

Or morons at the NCAA who advocated for eliminating the one year buffer for transferring ?

What were the names of the members of the committee who voted for this ?

THE ONE YEAR BUFFER NEEDS TO BE REINSTATED !
You'll probably get a faster answer if you do the research yourself rather than asking the board.

I think allowing one transfer without sitting out is fair. Institute the the sitting out policy for any subsequent transfer.

Coaches should sit out a year before leaving for another school too.

I don’t get this mindset that the OP presents. I am all about free will and personal liberty. A football player should have complete autonomy and choice over where he plays without any repurcussion so long the school accepts him as a student. It’s in the player’s interest to better his chances of playing time or even draft stock. Who cares if the ones in power are minorly inconvenienced in a situation like this. We don’t need authoritarian over reach in college football.

The same moron who enabled NIL. The same one who is a weak pathetic excuse for a leader. The same one who ruined the one sport I loved, college football. I hope he rots in hell

Couldn’t agree more… which usually doesn’t happen between us. College is like the NFL. A league of 1 year contracts. Maybe the colleges should just give 1 year scholarships with school
option and be able to trade players for other football players. This is turning into a product worse than the NFL. Teaches nothing to these young men about their word meaning anything. The NCAA is to longer a student athlete but an athlete student. I wonder how this will affect their degree implementation when they go to 3-4 different schools.

NIL was a legal issue adjudicated by the courts, so there’s a distinction

Who would decide who gets the first slot ?

That would be litigated and my guess is that it would be voided

That would result in chaos, a total lack of stability

Some schools might not be able to field a competitive team

You have to look at what’s good for the “GAME”, not the individual player !

So you have no rules in your home, implied or stated?

Your wife is free to cheat ?

Your kids can do whatever they want ?

interesting!

They do but get bailed out by the new school most of the time.
Yes, but the school that they’re leaving can be compensated, whereas there is no compensation when a player leaves.

Everyone should watch Mack Brown’s comments on the TP and NIL. He feels that it has to be fixed …… soon !

Yes, compensated with money and now that is why the portal exists for the most part. It’s all just crap.

Comparing a college player transfering to your wife cheating on you seems like an obvisous projection. This is a safe space if there is something you need to get off your chest? 🤣

That’s not the comparison I created, my comparison had nothing to do with a college football player transferring, read both posts again and then get back to me.

Mack Brown stated that the players are being actively solicited by outside sources, agents snd others and that the players are being offered money to transfer.

That should be an eye opener to those who support the new transfer policy !

It has now turned into a bidding war fueled by outside sources and NOT internal motivation by the player transferring so that he can get more playing time.

MONEY is now the driving and corrupting force !

I agree with you. One exception though. If a coach leaves a school to coach at another institution then players should be allowed to transfer without sitting. Also if kids decide to follow a coach to his new school then that player should sit one year.

I can live with that !

I changed my mind on a coach leaving and players being allowed to follow him.

There has to be a limit on how many can follow him.

You can’t have a dozen or more players jumping ship and leaving the school with empty shelves.

Money has always been the driving force. Money doesn’t talk it SCREAMS! And between the NIL and the new transfer rules to all near completely legal. But hey, these kids deserve it, and someone who quotes’ Blacks Law Book said that these kids are worth it, according to the market and if you don’t agree you’re probly a Commie…

No, money hasn’t always been the driving for in college football, the love of the game was the driving force !

Let’s not forget that the money doesn’t go to all of the players, only to the ones who are deemed exceptional !

Wouldn’t a commie want all of the players to get an equal amount, regardless of ability ?

The bag man and money have Always been a factor in CFB. This is true, unless you naive. Other posters on this site have argued others are Commies, if your against NIL and the transfer portal; was my point.
