Give me an injury that has made this season like last year? Zaire...You already have posted that he will never get his starting job back. Folston...Prosise is better. Smythe...Come on. Who else clown? Injuries have nothing to do with this season. Your excuses are no longer valid.
IMO the return of Fuller and CJ in 2016 is critical to the teams offensive game plan. Without CJ the run game losses the best back an ND uniform since Reggie Brooks. I compare the 2 because when Reggie became a RB I thought it was going to be a loooong year. He and Bettis proved to bet the best combo ever at ND . CJ runs in the worst offensive run system I have ever seen and he still averages 8 yards per carry. I reall belive that CJ and MZ would have been unstoppable for Clemson. They were able to key on CJ . If CJ goes pro Folston returning is a solid but not an explosive back like CJ. Adams has great flashes and Williams might be terrific . MZ gives that backfield the other runner. Kizer does not possess those skills. Fuller is the best deep threat I have ever seen at ND. Both QBs can make that deep throw. BK made a rediculous statement at the post game presser. St. Brown the super Frosh blocked the punt and BK praised him that he could start for most power 5 teams but he can't take Fuller off the field. Ok but what about Brown? This guy cannot get some reps / experience ? I don't get it ? They only use 2 WR's ? My point is Kizer ha a great cast . Next year , No Fuller, Brown at WR and it becomes a huge ?? Will Kizer be the same ? The 2 QB system will not work. The system will decide.
You made a lot of good points, but what's with calling our offense the worst offensive system ever? Is it because you want to see a FB and TE every snap?
Clemson didn't simply key on CJ -- because you can't! You don't just simply run to the running back and, bam, the play is shut down. The offensive line didn't play that well against Clemson. Plus, Clemson is pretty good.

Really?? Zaire is faster way to the goal. Kizer is okay. Kizer is slow read and stand for over 10 to 15 sec.
Cook is just a freak. That's the only explanation I have. I believe he is the best RB we've ever had.

Honestly I dont think that Kelly ever had much intention to have Kizer as a starter at Notre Dame. He had Zaire as a junior with 3 years of eligibility left. And signed a stud freshman in Wimbush. Kizer was high stakes quality back up policy. But Kizer has a done a great job of preparing for the big moment. Now Kelly has done something that he has been really good at in recent
. He found a diamond in the rough like he did with Tyler Eifert, Will Fuller, and CJ Procise. Kizer has way too much upside with size, athleticism, arm strength, poise, and intangibles to keep him off the field. The things he needs to work on can be fixed with film study and more practice reps. Zaire is great, but Kizer's stature, skill, and confidence is going to be hard to beat out.

I think the rain had a lot to do with it, too. Clemson stacked the box and forced us to throw. But that wasn't easy in the weather conditions. We had about 7-8 dropped passes in that game, as well as 3 fumbles lost. However Clemson, to their credit, seemed to deal with the bad conditions a little better than we did.
The don't like to running game system right now. Never have but with MZ it had a better dual threat . Kizer is a threat to run but not the game breaker like MZ. I like Kizer size and pocket presence but if you do not have those weapons to throw to it might be a moot point . We Have a a tone of Wr's coming back but no experience at all.
Who knows, but I think some are writing off Zaire way to soon. Remember, he beat out Kizer for the starting job in fall camp for a reason. The coaches saw something. Between the two of them, I think most DC's would tell you that Zaire is tougher for them to prepare for because he is just as good a passer (or better), but a significantly better playmaker with his legs. He is like having another running back in the backfield. Wimbush may end up being the most talented of all three. Let's enjoy this year, but yes, it will be the question in spring camp. I just am rooting for Zaire to make a full recovery so he has a fair shot to win the job back. Also, as we've seen in the past, who starts in the 1st game may not necessarily be the guy who gets the most snaps or finishes the season. Kelly will no hesitate to play the best player.
Not being a jerk, but I'm not following you. How does not having Zaire in, and no experience coming back (something I don't agree with if Fuller stays) make our offense the worst system ever?
What is it about the way ND lines up and calls plays that makes it so bad?
Kelly has won 11 games 12 games twice and 11-12 games this yr because he has the worst offensive system EVER -- why would one engage an individual who expresses such dribble .

Flat out wrong here. Even in spring ball and camp every single reporter was saying kizer was significantly more accurate than Malik. Pete Sampson said you could count the throws kizer missed all camp on one hand. So much so that some even wondered if there should be an open competition for who was the starter.
Kelly refused (probably rightly so) to make it a competition reiterating that Malik was the starter.
