Who here ever thought Stanford would have a better Football program than ND ?

Stanford's football program is better than ND's - who thought that could ever happen ? With less talent Stanford has now beaten ND 4 times in the last 6 years and has won more big bowl games than ND over the last 6 years as well.

Stanford has the exact same restrictions as ND. Their recruiting classes have been ranked lower than every one of ND's recruiting classes. And then they go out and beat ND 4 out of the last 6 years.

agree w/ you - the point is that Stanford who has the exact same restrictions as ND has a far superior coach than ND. Many, many ND alums and fans constantly say - "but who can we get to coach at ND " wah, wah, - so tired of the acceptance of mediocre football at ND. They also love to say - "but we had TY, Boob, and CW and they all couldnt win either and BK is better than those 3" - is he really ? IF he is - it ain't by much and the ND alum and fans have shitty expectations for their head coach. ND football is pathetic.

You know what - you keep trying until you find a coach like D Shaw who gets a lot out of the talent he has and wins big games.

Stanford proves to all ND fans that you can win at a pretty dam high level even w/ restrictions on the type of athletes you can recruit.

IF STANFORD CAN HAVE A QUALITY HC - SO CAN NOTRE F....ing DAME !

^^ True.

But, except for those 2 washington games Stanford has done relatively well these past number of years. It just goes to show that with the right coaches you CAN have a relatively good football team even with the academic restrictions that ND has. Maybe not a national championship calibre team every year, but at least a team we can enjoy and be proud of.

Do you think BK would of beat a Bill Snyder coached Ks. St. team ? Snyder would of out coached BK and the Ks. st. players would of been more ready to play than ND.

Do you think BK would of beat a Jim Mora coached UCLA team ? As much as I dislike Jim Mora - the same would of happened.

The fact of the matter is that Stanford is not all that good this season - yet they have still found a way to win games they can win. Wa and Wa. St are both prettty dam good this season.

If you lived through the Faust era and the Willingham mini-era you know that at any given time there are lots of programs that can be better than ours.
