Where are the OSU fans????

And if you don't play cover zero on third and 11, 17 points.

The only mistake Al Golden made all night.
I may have mentioned that once or twice in other posts - and texts - and to anyone in my house that would listen.

But I was happy with the defense tonight - they played well enough to win.

Both defenses were impressive. That was a hard hitting game. I just think OSU's depth took over from the 2nd quarter on. ND has nothing to be ashamed of

You forgot one point. It’s one of your predictions,

You said ND could not stay on the field with OSU. You called for a blowout.

Your LBs are trash, I 100% stand by that. The OSU Dline manhandled the ND defense.

I never said ND would rush for 250.
You did exactly that, said Notre Dame would rush for 250-300 yds. It's your very first post in a thread you started called something like "OSU has real problems on defense"...just own it

I remember it well and tried to point out that OSU brought in a whole new defensive staff - didn't do any good

hope this doesn't sound like sour grapes, but I wouldn't evaluate your D based on tonight - ND's worst fears are confirmed - that offense is putrid.

I hope you're right, and it was a defensive performance for the ages, but I kind of doubt it.

You hold OSU to 21, you should win.
Yup you should or you should at least y
give it your best shot.
ND did neither
Punting in the 4th quarter from the Ohio State 36 when you're down is inexcusable
Playing to cover the spread

What are you like 12? What a clown.
I might be 12. I might be 22 32 …. Etc. And boy if I am 12 look at you trying to punch up and failing. But and this is a BIG one; regardless of what I am you are a complete douche nozzle. And that sir is indisputable

To be fair that was a brutal first game. Short of going to Alabama or Georgia probably as tough as it gets. I did not see one national expert pick ND to win this game. I thought it was a good showing. If ND can run the table(not sure the USC game is a win) the playoff is possible.

Of course it's possible

You have issues, try some meds or counseling, or at least get a new insult. I apologize to the more civil/reasonable/intelligent individuals here. I pity you having to deal with this person on a regular basis. Enjoy the season, hope you win out.

Haven't read back so if I repeat anything please accept my apologies.

A few thoughts:
-ND's defensive line was as advertised. Stroud struggled because he didn't have the time to throw that he's accustomed to. That's a credit to the D-line of ND. Possibly the best unit OSU will face until late in the season. It's also a credit to OSU's O-line because they were able to run the ball effectively late in the game. OSU could not run the ball between the tackles last year and it bit them against scUM. Demonstrating the ability to do it against an excellent group like ND's is a great sign for OSU.

-From what I saw (and my opinion is about as relevant as dental floss at a Willie Nelson concert) I think OSU's new defensive scheme was effective and the different looks they presented pre-snap confused the QB a little bit. I was impressed with OSU's D-line, and their LB's (who were completely lost for much of the last two years) seemed like they were comfortable and making plays. around 20% of ND's total yards for the game came on their first play. That's a pretty impressive stat for OSU's defense.

-Barring injuries or other unforseen shenanigans, I think OSU has a great chance to run the regular season table and I think ND has a great chance to finish with one loss. If that happens they will both be in the playoffs and will most likely meet in round 1.

I agree with the second and third part but disagree with the first part. I think Stroud had plenty of time to throw the football, he didn't looked rushed much at all. I just think he looked lost after losing his top receiver early on. He didn't have the best chemistry with the guys (albeit talented) he was throwing to on the field. After losing his safety valve, he was basically without his 4 top targets from last year and I think it showed.

Nope! I was wrong about the ND Oline.

The ND run game barley got past the OSU LBs
Former OSU linebackers Zach Boren and Bobby Carpenter said that LBs were lights out. Tommy Eichenberg had zero tackles against Tulsa last year and had about 9 tackles and 3tfls and 2 sacks against ND.

Carpenter said the LBs were fantastic. Shows the difference coaching can make.
