COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the second time in as many years, Karen and Kevin Keyes Family Head Coach Niele Ivey will serve as an assistant coach for USA Basketball.
On Monday, the organization announced Ivey will head to Brno, Czech Republic for the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup from July 12-20. Indiana's Teri Moren will serve as the head coach for the team, and USF's Jose Fernandez will be the other assistant alongside Ivey. The USA will look to capture its fourth straight gold medal and 11th overall in the competition since it began in 1985.
Last year, the same group of coaches led the 2024 USA Women's U18 National Team to the gold medal at the FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
Ivey is coming off her fifth year at the helm at Notre Dame and already has a lengthy list of accomplishments. The 2023 ACC Coach of the Year, Ivey has led her team to four consecutive Sweet 16 appearances, a 2024 ACC Tournament title and at least a share of the ACC regular season title in both 2023 and 2025. A former Irish point guard and national champion herself, Ivey has a record of 117-38 and became the fastest coach to 100 wins to start a head coaching career in ACC history during the 2024-25 season.
Coaching selections for the U19 Women's National Team were made by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee.
