Yes, to control the LOS and run the ball. And no they didn't just run up the middle an throw deep balls. They ran wide, they ran read option, they threw intermediate passes. The problem is twofold. The OLine stinks, but really that has alot to do with our inability to complete wide open passes deep. Marshall had minimum 8 defenders in the box for 90% of our offensive snaps, and were getting pressure without blitzing. If you can't stretch the field, then run blocking and running is tough. Buchner needed to complete some deep balks to make it hurt, especially to Lenzy at the end of the first half. How do you not complete that? I was in his corner, but honestly, he isn't the answer. He's a one dimensional QB; can't throw, and that's a big problem
