No pass rush. No coverage in secondary. Poor tackling. 500 yards and 50 points allowed . Time for BVG to go. Actually, it is past time.
I agree like many people do that BVG needs to go... but a second chance? I feel like we are way passed a second chance.
Sorry, but unfortunately we're stuck with BVG for this season. No way that BK is going to demote him or let him go this early in the season. He'll be gone at the end of the season unless things turn around big time.
BVG is a terrible college coach. Just horrible.
I say college because maybe he'd have more success in the NFL but with the student athlete who can't study game film for 6 hours but has to study real learning college courses for 6 hours.. he over complicates the defense.
A tentative player is a slow player ...regardless of 40 time.
But MOST
Importantly is the repeated inability of our team to put together a simple text book form tackle. It's that simple. Either BVG doesn't think it's important and never stresses it or he is teaching them to hit only and never wrap up.
Either way it's WRONG❕

Umass scored 27 points on ND last yr . Ran for 148 yards on ground and averaged slightly over 5 yards per carry. Freaking Umass lights it up on this BVG defense. Is it recruiting issue vs Umass??? That says it all . Case closed. Relieve BVG of his duties asap.
I only want to give BVG a second chance to continue this season - after this year he should be fired unless the. Defense makes a massive improvement otherwise he should go . In other words he is on an extremely short leash , any games this year that repeat the Texas Debacle he should be replaced immediately
He was on short leash last yr and a shorter leash at start of this yr . The leash snapped last night. Enough is enough
There's blown coverages and missed tackles everywhere. They look like the Keystone Cops sometimes.
Generally all the time they look lost. Always unimpressive and often pathetic on D. The D coordinator keeps calling the same heavy blitzing packages since day 1 that rarely get home . Still doing it yr 3. Damn the consequences. The level of stubbornness and denial of obvious is unreal.
I've said it since he's walked our sidelines....the players look confused under BVG. Add the fact we've tackled like shit under him...and here we are.
Just remember before you say it's a material issue...
A confused player is a tentative player no matter how pretty the 40 time.
Indecisive play and horrendous fundamentals make our defense look very VERY division II like.
