He will take the year off. Then resurface. USC has Helton, why would Swann opt for Urban Meyer?

Looks like Ryan Day will get a shot. Hopefully it'll help recruiting for the Irish next couple years.
I imagine a lot will depend on OSU next year. Not much to do in 2019. I'm hearing from everyone here and elsewhere ND is down to 1 spot and maybe 1 more with a big flip.
After reading a bit about his health condition, I kinda get the feeling this time he's done.
Urban is one of the greatest to ever carry a whistle, no doubt. I wish him the best.

Who is "we"? ND has a football coach, who went 12-0 and has his team in the Playoffs. Is Ohio State in the playoffs? Oh that's right Urbie & Co laid an egg at Purdue, after laying an egg in Iowa the year before.
Put Brian Kelly at OSU with every single advantage known to man. Guarantee you he would have more than one ring. And put Urban Meyer at ND? Oh wait he chickened out because he could not run the football program like the scum bag he truly is..
I hope for his health. Not as evil as some on this board. It can happen to anyone. He’s a great coach.
I think hoopstar12 was referring to our recruiting efforts this year, meaning that if we still had openings we could offer guys who signed with Ohio State.
Who do you think leaves early, is asked to move on, or doesn’t get a 5th ?. Because 22 will put us over 85
I'd much rather have one of OSUs deflected prospects than some 5th year journeyman already on the roster that's for sure

Regardless of what you think of him personally, he is a legendary coach with an absolutely incredible winning percentage. The guy got it done on the field bottom line.
His wife said after UF, and after his second season at OSU that urban had to make lifestyle changes because his drive to win was so hard on him, he didn't enjoy anything else, even victories. He even said he had to get more therapeutic and understand losing a single game wasn't the end of it all.

The hope is we hire him next year. Pipe dream IMO. He will take at least a year off and then we will see. MY theory is that Kliff will make us above average (not great) and we will win enough games to keep out walk-on coach for another year.
