1. I just read some team has fired its D Coordinator. When I first read the headline, I initially jumped thinking it might be ND, but it wasn't.
2. Taking all of the this and that into account; in the final analysis when leading 35-31 with 5:30 to play ND could not jam the ball down the throats of Texas and take final control of the game. On 4th and 1 Kelly did not believe the Irish could make it. That says it all. Yep, the defense was horrible. And, yep Texas got away with the targeting call. But, the bottom line is: When the game was there for the Irish to take with some good old smash mouth football they could, or would not do it.
