The tradition, since Eisenhower, has been for the US President to be the ND commencement speaker at the graduation following their 1st presidential election victory

My freshman year at ND was the year following Obama's 1st election, and thus he was invited to be the commencement speaker that year
(and at the time I thought the amount of protesting about his invitation was insane)

This upcoming graduation would be the year that Trump would traditionally be invited to be the commencement speaker, but the ND Admin decided not to invite him....which I think was the 100% wrong decision.

Agreed. They're showcasing they only want someone to speak from one side of the aisle. Liberals hate freedom of thought and expression unless it's exactly what they believe in. Many Liberals search out people who disagree with them and try to destroy those individuals.

Considering his Daddy's penchant for Klan marches in Queens (not to mention documented anti-catholic speak), pretty sure he was raised with a healthy disdain for Catholics. Anyone still with the loyalty of calling himself a "real Irishman" doesn't want him there anyway.
