Prior to Jack Swarbrick there was a ton of practice footage during fall and spring, you got to see a lot of the ND-campus festivities leading up to the game (including the pep rally and the player luncheon) a lot more candid interviews with players, coaches were more straightforward, etc. etc. there wasn't this degree of public relations manipulation coming out of Notre Dame.

The new generation coming up love transparency (gen z/gen alpha/etc.). That's the culture now in social media (tiktok and youtube shorts) this new generation is more adverse to way-too-stuffy corporate brands. This new generation want honesty, transparency, they want to see your warts and all--they understand that no business or person is perfect and they want to connect with the university on those imperfections more than any generation before it.

I think ND should drop the secrecy/insular/super controlled PR coming from Notre Dame, and just show who they are to the world boldly and proudly. Let the local media interview whoever in the program on media days (without overly cliched coached answers). Let the players show their unique personalities and speak their mind. Open practices back up to the media and let them share unedited videos of players during practice doing drills and such. I think this would go a long way to creating the type of culture that resonates with the top prospects in the country with a choice to go anywhere in 2025 and beyond.

The new generation coming up love transparency. They dont like stuffy brands/buttoned up corporations from a PR perspective. They want honesty, transparency, they want to see your warts and all (they understand that no business or person is perfect).

WHY ?

We just played and nearly won the National Championship. I prefer to keep things as they are. Let Marcus run the program, He is killing in development, recruiting and esp. recruiting his own players. The culture he's building is very very strong, I wouldn't f it up.
