More important things in life than football. But BC is a rivalry game whether we believe that or not. I despise Brian Kelly as our Head coach but I love Notre Dame football and we must beat BC. We have beat BC like six times in a row and I would like to keep the win streak going.
I am not excited about Irish football right now but if we beat BC and start a winning streak maybe I will get my excitement back. I am also going to root for PJ Fleck and Minnesota to see if he can make the next step to Notre Dame. Brian Kelly is dead to me. Pennicks boy.
Go Irish !!
Beat BC !!

Not me; I can hardly wait until next Saturday. The coaches are working their butts off and the players are getting better each week. Now let's go and stuff BC.

I am rooting for the team to win. But Kelly is just collecting a paycheck. How can you like Kelly if you are such an Ara fan, How many 8 loss and 5 loss teams did Ara have?.

This could be a very tough game. First road game of the season for DW. Coming off a hard loss to UGA. Noon start time. BC treats this like a rivalry game. How will the team respond?

I think you'll have a better feeling for how good this team is next week. I suppose we may all be fooled and find out we're both mediocre again. But our coach really thinks your team is good and your players seem fairly upbeat about what happened considering it was a loss. Not saying they liked the outcome, but they seem to think there is something to build on.

I have little doubt ND will beat a BC team that will likely finish 3-9

Don't be surprised if BC wins. ND players (and fans like you) will be looking ahead assuming this one is in the bag. Be prepared for a dog fight.

Honest question Bodi - how would you be feeling about the team (not Coach Kelly) if they would have went down and kicked the field goal and won as time ran out? This board would be going nuts and pounding their chests.

Glad to see you are letting go and moving on from last night's game. ND has an opportunity to have a really good season this year.

Just made it back to the house and going to watch the game then put it to rest.

Most of us predicted this would come down to a play or two, a mistake or two. I don't like calling out players on a board......

ND had a great chance to retake the lead....we hit a wide open TE in the flat, about the 25 I think....in the hands and they drop it....that puts you in FG range...I'd guess BK on 2nd and 2 goes run and not drop back which was stripped....just something like that play....runs the clock.....makes UGA score to win with a frosh.....

Untimely late hit....questionable but stupid...

Other side of the ball, one of their receivers makes a circus catch in the end zone.

That's not coaching, that's making plays....

UGA had all 10 defensive starters back on the second best team in the SEC and it came down to a strip sack (2) and a drop on one side and a catch on the other......

I'm not sure the line was the issue...they stacked the box all night....they said Brandon beat us and we had way to many dropped passes and two fumble strip sacks....

The positives, no one is pushing ND around anymore. Our strength and conditioning looked great into the 4th like a top 25 team should look...

Our defense had one breakdown...it was dropped....thankfully...outside of that good clean game.....

Our line looked a bit weak.....our QB looked confused at times....our line looked average.....Game on the line you can't get beat on a speed rush...

Overall, most predicted 8-4 to 10-2.....Lots of positives here...this game could easily be us talking NT again.....long season.....My prediction was get out of the first 3 games, 2-1 and you got a 10-2 working....QB and coaches need 2-4 games to gel...all new....

Only other team on our schedule with that talent and speed is USC....all other teams we match up favorable against....not saying you win them all, have to execute but we match up favorable with the talent....

At the end of the day, CFB has changed. Anyone on the board think Clay Helton is a top coach? ND plays a TOP schedule.....we get a well above average class....UGA, USC, AL, Clemson....those are athletes....not students....so BK has to work a bit harder than most....give us 2, 5 star RB's....2-3 5 star LB's and safety's and allow us to plug holes with Juco's and we too would have a "Program"...until then, its always rebuild, not reload....

Long season.....I personally see a big difference...you can all chastise me later....this looks like a 10-2 team.

Bodi...the only thing that has changed from yesterday morning is that ND will not go undefeated this year as you predicted. Neither will Ohio State or Stanford!
Thought our defense played really well, and the improvement in physicality and hitting and tackling are readily apparent. Tackles for loss and sacks after two games exceed last year's totals. A lot to be encouraged about.
We play for a shot at the NC playoffs since we are independent, and that goal is still within reach. That said, we are a work in progress on offense, and Saturday showed we have a ton of work before we are the high scoring juggernaut we all claimed. Wimbush does not look nearly as good passing as I expected, but he is under way too much pressure to really gauge this, and when given time to step into his throws, he seems very good. Our receivers need to improve, and this is the most shocking develop to me in this young season. The grad transfers don't impress, Mack has been terrible, and no one has stepped up to reinforce and compliment St Brown. Finke brought energy and excitement and productivity when he was inserted, and the whole receiver rotation needs some serious revamping in my opinion. As is Wimbush does not have a go to receiver in critical downs, and he needs one.
Lots of work to be done, but with a few less dropped throws, and we would be celebrating a great win.

I think everyone is now hoping ND loses so the Kelly era can come to a painful end.

No but we aren't insane either. We've seen this movie before. Just facing reality. At this point, anybody still on the ND bandwagon shouldn't have their loyalty questioned. Expecting more after 7 years of 7.5 wins isn't being disloyal.

12:00pm game too. Going back to Pittsburgh in 2009??? we all know how Kelly's teams look in early starts.

Quit blaming the players for the loss. It was all on Kelly.
You are being a Kelly apologist. Kelly always loses the big games.
Ohio State and Stanford could both go 2 and 10 this year but those two teams have had plenty of moments in the sun. Notre Dame has been in total darkness with Kelly-- no big bowl wins. And now we can't beat any good teams. I am afraid Michigan State is back and will beat us at Michigan State to make us 1 and 2 if we take care of business against BC.
Elko and Ballis have improved the defense immensely but they are not the head coach. Kelly sucks and there will be no escitement from me until his sorry butt is gone.

And Georgis is not a great team. 8 and 5 last year with losses to some pretty bad teams and a near loss to Nichols State.

You know damn well that I am not a Kelly apologist. The truth is our OL was unable to provide Wimbush adequate protection; they were unable to make holes or running lanes; our receivers dropped too many passes on critical plays; and Wimbush and Adams each made a poor running decision at critical moments at the end of the game. Our offense needs work at literally every position, and Georgia was clearly good enough to reveal this. Bodi, come off the ledge and get pumped and spread your optimism for an 11-1 season!

The very thought of fans wanting this team to lose football games seems revolting to me. There's two people at ND who hire and fire head coaches: Father Jenkins and Jack Swarbrick with Father J's approval. The course they picked was different from mine. I wanted to replace Kelly after 31 losses. Any head football coach that goes 4-8 in year 7 at ND should be fired; however that's well above my paygrade. 7 new coaches and S&C leaders were hired and assured that this was way more than a one and done situation. Hardly the action of a coach who's given up (see Tyrone Loserham). Those young men men fought their hearts out for 58 minutes and 24 seconds last night. They could have won/they deserved to play before a packed house of Irish fans in the House Rockne built.

Turning the program into a raging dumpster fire again, with two new coordinators under contract, isn't a very good way to attract a home run hire of a coach (if one becomes available).

BC will steal from the Georgia playbook. Stop the run at all costs and make ND throw. If they do that, do not be surprised if BC wins. Notice I didn't say " upset". Beating ND, no matter the opponent is no longer an " upset" .
