When Steve Angeli commits to ND as almost everyone expects to happen at some point, throw a little party at your desk. I'm not sure what the so called "experts" at Rivals and TOS look for in QBs but Angeli is better than so many QBs ranked ahead of him.

I'll start with Brady Allen because he's from Indiana and he's 6'5" blah blah blah. Would I be happy if Allen committed to ND? Sure. Lots to work with there. Size. Arm is acceptable. Concerns? They are lengthy. Competition? If I asked you where Fort Branch, IN was, how many of you could tell me? I've lived my whole life in Indiana. No idea where Fort Branch is. It's a small town north of Evansville. Not much comp down there. I think ND could be a shock to his system and he isn't so talented that you take that risk. In terms of skill, he doesn't move well at all. Doesn't fit Kelly's system. If I had to bet, I'd bet Angeli's arm strength is better too. And when you are talking height, once a kid gets to 6'2" which Angeli is, the extra 3 inches don't bring much. Mahomes is listed at 6'3". Would he be better at 6'5"? Nope. Angeli plays against top competition, moves great, and has a better arm.

OK, the AJ Duffy hype I don't get at all. He's listed at 6'2". I call total BS on that. Arm strength is decent but there's more effort in Duffy's motion than Angeli. Duffy isn't the runner Angeli is either.

Walker Howard - LSU commit. #4 PRO QB on Rivals. Also #4 on TOS. Listed at 6'1"and that's debatable. In terms of skill, very similar to Angeli. Maybe a little faster which doesn't turn my head. Concerns are durability and ceiling. To me, Angeli hasn't come close to what he could become. Howard doesn't look like he can get much better because of his frame. There's not more arm strength you can get out of a frame like that. He's a slight kid. Listed at 183 which is really debatable.

Cade Klubnik. Please offer him yesterday!!! I don't necessarily think he's better than Angeli or Wimsatt but this kid is a player!

Nicco Marchiol. No thanks. If he's 6'2", Angeli is 6'4". Kid's a good runner and he'll beat some teams with sheer will but he isn't a good passer and doesn't have good arm strength. Hard pass for me.

Ty Simpson #3 QB on Rivals. I don't really get the Simpson thing. I think many schools are trying to find Baker Mayfield without the dick attitude. But Simpson isn't it. Another kid listed at 6'2" that is really hard to believe. Listed at only 185 pounds. He's just small. Arm strength is average.

Maalik Murphy. I'd sincerely like to have someone from Rivals or TOS call me and explain how Murphy is ranked ahead of Angeli. TOS has him as a 5-star. What!!!!! Murphy is tall. Congrats. Angeli runs better, has a quicker release, better arm strength and better accuracy. So what are the evaluators pointing at to rank these kids? I have no idea. Potential I guess. Murphy is the most bustable QB in this class.

Finally Gavin Wimsatt. Certainly lots to like about Gavin. He's tall and has a frame to be big but is skinny currently. Arm strength isn't what I would hope for someone that size. His form isn't great yet. I like that Angeli can come in and just work on the offense. No throwing motion issues that need fixed.

So when Angeli commits, don't think ND got the #13 QB in the country. In reality, he's top 5.
