I have never seen him so calm and relaxed on the sideline. After Josh ran that last big run up the middle, Kelly was the first to go hug him and celebrate with him. I posted earlier that giving up the offense and letting someone else run it, has allowed Kelly to simply be a coach. He finally looks like he is enjoying himself. Being a head coach and calling the offense is very hard. Not many successful coaches do that.

We all need to be humbled every so often. It's a built in reality check. It's how we respond that's important. So far, so good with BK. I love the way he handled the missed targeting calls. Firm but under control. I would have been the exact opposite.

He did what the best guys in the game are doing (Stoops, Swinney, Urby and St Nick) None of those guys coordinate one side of the ball and none of those guys hire coaches fron inside their little circle.

They go find the best and they find guys who have RECENT proven success. Bob Diaco was BK,s DC at Cincy his last 5 games he gave up 46, 21, 36, 44 and 51. He should of never been the DC at ND. Bobby Elliott rest his soul saved his ass at ND. BVG was a friend and had a good run at UGA. But for a decade he stunk up the place...he was run out of Georgia Southern, The NFL Falcons, Auburn and was a LB coach for the NY Jets

Mike Elko was shutting people down at Bowling Green and he had a Top 6 defense in the 2 most important statistics. Turnovers and 3rd down defense. At freaking WAKE FOREST...Chip Long was putting up numbers at MEMPHIS. Thats how ND should hire Coodinators and HC from now untill the end of time. BTW Holtz proven winner, Kelly proven winner, Ty barely .500, Faust, Davie, Weis no track record...nuff said

He seems like a different coach. The fact he stays committed to the run has been very helpful and it doesn't feel like a team thats throwing the ball all over for little to no reason. Offense is much like the 2012 team and the defense is better than that.

Why is it considered among a few that ND beat an over rated USC team but PSU's pile drive of Michigan was one of the all time great wins. I think someone has a guilt complex and now is trying to over compensate for the way PSU was treated during those dark years. Just a theory I've been kicking around.

I am among the many Kelly doubter/hater contingent who now see an ND team that could be competitive with the best in CFB and I give HCBK all the credit. Jim Rome is impressed and said it is rare that a coach can rebuild on the fly, but he said Kelly has a "monster" good team. So, the red faced screamer in the grill of every miscue has turned into a general. And I Like it !
