1. Improve each week.

2. Developing players for depth in case of injury of starter.

3. Coaching staff (Kelly) to stay aggressive to the closing bell-- running up the score is not a bad thing--because every team on our schedule can play good and blowing teams out builds confidence.

4. Coach Kelly and Chip Long and Tommy Rees helping Wimbush to get better every game to reach his potential and to help him not get frustrated. Remember, as Chaseball said, Alabama can be beaten with a great dual threat QB. Imagine if Wimbush gets as confident as Aggie Johnny Football? Wimbush has a higher ceiling.

5. Coach Kelly has to trust his players and be aggressive when the game is on the line against bigtime opponents like Stanford, Miami, USC.

6. Kevin Stepherson--- the coaching staff and Captains need to get Kevin motivated-- A motivated Kevin Stepherson can put points up in a hurry even against top opponents- and can help the running game by making Safetys play deep.

7. Using play makers like CJ Sanders more. They started this against Michigan State and it paid dividends as he got us better field position on his kick returns. He almost broke one. He has done it in the past as he did against Stanford in 2015. They also got him the ball a couple of times on offense without success but they need to keep giving him more opportunities.
I think he should be our punt returner also if he can show he won't fumble in practice.

8. Matt Ballis and Nutrition. Matt Ballis has done an amazing job having our Irish players in great shape. He has to keep them strong and focused during the season. And Nutrition is the most important thing. In 2012 or 2013 I think it was Sheldon Day or Louis Nix who joked about buying alot of Little Debbie cakes while grocery shopping during the season. If you want to make the playoffs eating junkfood is not a joking matter. It will hurt you.

Going 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 is not good enough. Waiting for 2018 is a waste of time. In 2012 we made the National Championship game and in 2015 we almost made the playoffs but we did not get better the next year.
We need to make the playoffs now ! 2017 ! One game at a time and we could be 11 and 1 and waiting on the committee to pick us for the playoffs !

It is not impossible ! Go Irish ! Beat the RedHawks !

Good post Bodi. Waiting for 2018 is not only not good enough, it should be an even more challenging year given who we are likely to lose off the roster after this season, as well as the difficult schedule. This year is really our best chance for a playoff run, and the hangover perception from last year is keeping us off everybody's radar, which is fine by me. Win our next two games in convincing fashion, enjoy the bye week, and then the playoff run begins with USC and ends with Stanford, with tough games against Miami and North Carolina St and Navy in between. Win out and we'll be on everyone's radar and a few big five conf champs will be doing everything possible to undermine our selection for the playoffs.
