Former Notre Dame great Alan Page just retired from the Bench in 2015 at the age of 70.

Has anyone seen him at any Notre Dame home games lately?

It would be nice to see him around at games to give the youngsters a great role model.

USC has OJ Simpson and Notre Dame has Alan Page ! What a contrast !

Alan was an outstanding lineman. As a Dolphin's fan I do remember a certain Bob Keuchenberg cleaning his clock in the Super Bowl.Alan lost his poise at the end of the game.

I have never seen the great Alan Page at ND home games or walking in or around campus. That doesn't mean he hasn't been around. I just haven't seen him myself. I do have an incredible Polaroid picture my Dad took of me standing with Alan back in October of 1965. I was 13 at the time. In those days, players were readily available to take pictures with fans and sign if you waited outside the main gate after the game.

Keuch is also a ND alum. Actually he was a teammate of Page's during the 1966 season.

we're arguing over whether Alan Page was better than Ross Browner?

not really. one poster(coolirish) thought page was the best nd has had. i think browner was more dominant. the insolent child just showed up to show his ignorance.

I think it is more than fair to say that both Browner and Paige were the excellent. We should be happy they decided to spend time in Notre Dame, Indiana.

In about 1979 or so, I as lucky enough to get to know Alan Paige a bit as we both ran marathons, in particular the Chicago Marathon. As a surprising note he was always listed at about 250 lbs., but when I knew him, near the end of his career playing for the Bears, he played at about 210 relying on quickness and his brain. I was a college wide out and bigger than him him, which I was amazed at.

He was quiet, but a very nice and thoughtful man and I am very proud of the career he had both in football and the law.

I doubt Alan was ever 250 lbs.
