Do you know what the word "embellish" means? The following are embellishments. They are not excuses.
The ND PR department appears hellbent on embellishing kelly's meager resume' with disingenuous comparisons.
"• Kelly is the first coach in Notre Dame history to lead the Irish to bowl games during each of his first four seasons. He is the first coach to take Notre Dame to bowl games in four straight seasons at any stage of their career since Lou Holtz (1987-95)."
When one considers that a .500 ND team will get an invite, here are some annual stretches where ND football was above 500.
1888-1932 above 500… 1934-1955….1964-1980….1987-1998
Pre 1970 ND appeared in 1 Bowl game. We won the Rose Bowl and a national championship with the victory in 1924.
The accolade is a farce.
"• Kelly has led Notre Dame to at least eight victories over each of his first four seasons. He is the second coach in school history to accomplish the feat (Dan Devine)."
First, Devine did it with less games. (In 2 of his 6 years we played 11 games. In 4 we played 12.)
Here are the 13 game seasons for ND pre kelly.
13 game seasons 1989, 1991, 1997, 2002, 2006, & 2008.
All 6 of kelly’s seasons have been 13 games….
2 of his 8 game win seasons were achieved in the 13th game/bowl game…. The accolade is a farce.
"• Kelly's .769 winning percentage since 2007 ranks as the sixth-best among active NCAA FBS coaches."
Parsing out kelly's complete D1 experience and starting with 2007 is a farce. PS Jim Harbaugh is 22-4 and undefeated in bowls since 2010... sounds ridiculous....
"• Kelly ranks third and fifth among active NCAA FBS coach in both victories (208) and winning percentage (.741), respectively." (so include his subdivision 1 wins, but exclude their coaches…)
There are 8 coaches in CFB with more wins than kelly. Ex. Dennis Douds has 256 wins in DII where 118 of kelly's wins herald from...
kelly ranks # 108 in career DI wins.... The accolade is a farce.

"• Kelly became only the second Irish coach to win 12 games in a season (Lou Holtz also did it in 1988)."
(From 1888 until 1973 it was physically impossible for an ND team to win 12 games. From 1974 until 1988 there were 9 12 game seasons and 6 11 game seasons. Our last 11 game season was 2001.)
In 1989, 1991, 2002, 2006 & 2008 we played 13 games.
All of kelly's seasons have been 13 games. The statistic is a farce.
The fact that folks have to use legerdemain to embellish kelly's resume' speaks volumes.
In all his D1 and ND experience he has authored a Music City Bowl win as his greatest post season victory.
He stinks....
You are certainly not the brightest bulb.
I fully understand your inability to counter anything I write as it is supported by documented fact.....
Thanks for the chuckles....
