That's the worst single season D in ND history.
When you add it to last year, I believe 5th worst ppg against in ND history, it's the worst 2 year stretch ever....

cgvr was a test tube baby of the 70's The only affection he got as a youngster was when the scientist who made him pored a warm saline solution over his body to clean him.
The night security guard used to shock him (cgvr) with a plugged in lamp with a broken light bulb when the scientist went home for the night.
Before we judge cgvr we need to at least know what made him the way he is today.

From the outside looking in, this thread looks to me like cgvr vs. "the old guard" with cgvr being an alumnus and at least some of the old guard...........maybe not. Anyway,................I can see both sides:
Side A.) The Old Guard
After suffering through 20+ years of total coaching incompetence with each successive coach actually looking worse than his predecessor while losing games to the likes of Navy (following 43 years of domination)...............alas,.................the old guard has something to cheer about with Brian Kelly! And yes, it's real! It's real because of 2012..............an undefeated season with wins over the likes of Michigan, Stanford, Oklahoma and USC! Ahhh, but being throttled in the natty by Alabama was a rude awakening.
But, hope springs eternal and the old guard is loath to discredit their savior from the past miserable seasons. So, they defend BK, cherish him, make excuses for him, love him and lash out at anyone who dares to criticize him. And after a 20+ year drought that's understandable.
Side B.) CGVR
On the flip side along comes cgvr..............well read, conducts his research and does his homework. And lo and behold..........what does he discover??? That BK is human and has screwed the pooch on a number of occasions including a semipermeable defense. And cgvr airs his discoveries and backs them up, chock full of facts and figures! Whoa Nelly,.............that is like dirt in the eyes of the old guard............a real bubble buster and understandably so! Because................who in their right mind wants to even imagine the possibility of going back in the direction of the previous 20+ year drought???
So, there you have it..............one side full of facts and figures eager to criticize and the opposing side understandably unwilling to accept any notion that their Holy Grail is imperfect.

Forget the coaching side.... kelly is an insufferable vulgar stupid miserable prick of a person with a craptastic golf swing... He also successfully alienated one of the greatest ND players of all time and his team mates which eventually forced a team apology out of the gnome. He's made racist remarks that he had to apologize for... His "attack" on Grimes was deplorable... He's a total jackass....with multiple national media outlets calling for him to be fired on separate occasions, not for anything said here, but for his boorish disgusting behavior. The fact that people have to lie about his record to praise him says it all... he stinks....
The NC players I went to school with would not have made smores at some stupid ass campsite.... They would have pillaged....
PS some of us know what championship caliber coaching/skill looks like. kelly doesn't have it. He's a project.
