The Freeman on the job training seems to be faltering!

The new point to this season is bowl eligibility. 6-6 likely gets them a bowl game and 15 more on the job training practices.

Can we dig up all the posts where the Fickell fans were called stupid please!?
I know the program isn’t what it was 30 years ago, but it still requires previous experience. Can’t figure out why you make rash decisions and hire guys with no experience just because the current players love him. Freeman may be a good coach someday, but I don’t think it’ll be in South Bend.

You know why

Since Holtz, appointing coaches with no experience has backfired. A successful coordinator doesn't necessarily become a good head coach.

We discussed this last season at length regarding Freeman. But ND decided to roll the dice again instead of getting a proven coach.

Today doesn't bode well. I'll still be rooting for ND and Freeman. I think Freeman deserves 3 years, unless things really go south.

I believe it was said at the end of Weis tenure that ND is no place for On the Job Training

I stated that hiring MF was a mistake as soon as it was announced.

Where are all of those posters who said he was a good hire ?

ND was a 20 point favorite today !

I think I put it at 1/3 odds of success, which was generous given history...pushing it up for the Freeman personality factor and hoping for some magic.

The 2/3 odds are winning out I guess.

Let's see what the rest of the season holds. It remains to be seen if this is a bust versus work in progress with potential. But clearly it's not a home run hire, only 2 games in.

Agree, this is on Jack, who knows nothing about coaching. He should have hired an expert
