Brian Kelly finally has brought championship SEC level talent to South Bend.
After falling to a excellent Clemson team by two points they decisively beat an outstanding Navy team 41 to 24. After barely beating them the last two seasons. (The Navy team we clobbered in 2012 was not half as good as their current team). And then the Irish beat an ultra talented and pumped up USC team by two scores in a shootout 41 to 31 where the defense made big plays in the 4th quarter.

Coach Kelly chewed the team out after the Clemson loss telling them and I quote " I recruited you all because I thought you were winners" " Losing is unacceptable---the days of Notre Dame having moral victories is over".

From watching showtime I liked what I heard from the ND players---Like when Deshone Kizer Soze was telling a teammate that they blew a big chance against Clemson and that they would have been in the National spotlight if they won. To me that showed that the young QB does not want to settle and wants to win the rest of the games so ND can get back in the National spotlight.
You guys all know we have the talent to win out. I know that.
ND can score from anywhere on the field. The defense when they are awake can make big plays.
Our Sophomore QB (Kizer has been with the team two years) is coming in to his own. He is improving his game at a very fast pace. We are going to destroy Temple ! We are going to destroy Pitt ! We are going to destroy Wake Forest ! We are going to destroy Boston College ! And we are going to Stanford and beat a great Stanford team with quick strikes to Will Fuller and long runs by CJ Prosise and Adams and great returns by CJ Sanders !! They won't know what the hell hit them !!
And Jaylon Smith, Max Redfield. Cole Luke, Sheldon Day. and K. Russell are going to make big plays on defense either to score themselves or make a short field for the offense !! They will end the last few games of their ND careers with a BANG !!

Right now this 2015 team is the best since 93 !! They have the opportunity to be better than 93 !! They are going to win it all and put there 2015 record on the "Play like a Champion" sign !

Let all the trolls burn in envy !!
Keep the eye on the prize !!
Go Irish !!
Beat Temple !!

Stanford is the play in game - would have been even if we had beaten Clemson .

The committee if they are not biased will factor in a 2 pt loss to an undefeated team @ Clemson in a monsoon - a monsoon that contributed to 4 ND turnovers . As you said let the trolls fire away and formulate reasons why ND is not playoff worthy .

Bodi-I love your confidence and am slowly getting there myself. I think Kizer is the real deal and our offense has a ton of fire power. My main concern is the propensity of our defense to give up huge plays to sub-par teams.

It has to begin with beating teams we are supposed to beat, and to do so decisively. We need to do exactly as Bodi predicts, and dominate all our opponents leading up to the Stanford game. Close games won against weaker opponents in the last quarter will not give us the style points we need to get into the playoffs. I hope the fourth qtr defense against USC proves to be a much needed turning point for this defense.

"The committee if they are not biased....."

And that could be your biggest obstacle getting to the playoffs. Right or wrong, the committee is made up with a ton of P5 influence, many who resent the way N.D. keeps monies to themselves and refuses to join (and share) a conference. If you travel around the other boards, you'll notice N.D. is rarely mentioned in the playoff scenario. A lot of the talk is about which deserving P5 conference champion might be excluded. If you do end up going undefeated the rest of the way and end up with a single loss, we could see an epic meltdown throughout your fan base. Could get interesting.

A little off subject but I have been a huge proponent of an 8 team playoff w the qtr finals played on New Years Day @ the rose , sugar , cotton and orange bowls .

It would make New Years day the biggest sports day in America and restore the glory to the four major bowl games .

New Years Day use to be awesome when all four were played on the same day .

An eight team playoff seems fair to me - hell the NFL lets twelve teams in and there are only 30 teams and some of the teams going to there playoffs have 7 losses .

I look for ND's defense to turn a corner now that the triple option teams are behind them. It's not that the Irish have played bad defense but big plays have hurt them. Hopefully this bye week has given the coaches a chance to address those issues where trick/big plays have caused heartache.

I agree on Navy being the best Navy team in some time and expect them to finish the season ranked. I, also, expect SC to get back to respectability and finish the season ranked. As for Pitt and Temple, they may have peaked and a loss to ND will knock them out of the rankings. Although, Pitt will be in good position to win their division since a loss to ND won't count against them and playing in the ACC CG will almost guarantee a top 25 ranking.

I think the fast and continued maturation by Dishone Kizer is why ND will be unstoppable on offense. He had to get some games under his belt but that pass to Will Fuller in the closing seconds against Virginia was a thing of beauty. I knew as of that moment that Kizer was going to be special.

Hey genius, how about this?

Level heads chose to put the clemson loss on everyone from the top down.

Interestingly, you chose to blast those with that sentiment and exonerate kelly.
Then in the weekly PC kelly accepted responsibility for bad playcalling among other things. So, many of us were correct and had to deal with your usual nonsense.

However, bodi chose to point his finger directly at kelly stating, "It was mostly his fault we lost to Clemson ! He did not get the players motivated to match the intensity of Clemson at the start ! And that two point conversion was stupid and desparate !"

Let's see you rip your new "fwend".
