it has to be a winning system that is compatible with playing at the highest level. Kelly had a winning system in Div II...he won consistently to his credit. But that system was compatible within its environment. Notre Dame is in a different environment...at least, its competitors are.

Spot on. 100 percent correct. BK makes so many dam excuses that his followers jump right on board and make excuses as well.

ND football is a joke. Never thought Stanford would become a better football program than ND.

He did get us to the championship game already. Look the season sucks let's deal with it and hope players come out on the other side better for it. Next year we won't lose these close games.

I agree Kelly's time has passed. Also the Admin if they want quality team on-going then they have to give a bit. For example coach pay across the board. Also, recruitment allowances on the level of what Holtz had when his teams had good runs not when they put clamps on it.

ND played in the natty in 2012 because several teams (ranked ahead of ND) lost in the last week of season... if the current playoff system were in place ND wouldn't have been selected. BK gets credit for an appearance in a game ND didn't belong in.. Period.

Kelly has brought good talent on the offensive side of the ball especially. However, the Alabama's and the Ohio State's are on a different level. They have superior depth in almost every position. That was made obvious when we played them in the NC.

ND cannot win consistently under the current environment.

In '12 we went to the NC and we got every possible break imaginable and didn't have any serious injuries. Is the plan going forward going to be; No injures ever, get every break possible, and every coach and player has to play mistake free.

Also, Kelly has done a great job recruiting no doubt but because certain positions seem to lack many athletes that can get into ND (like DL and S) we are woefully thin on talent at those positions.

Lastly, when we have played the elite teams they have proven how far behind we are. The difference between those elite teams and ND is staggering.

ND can be a consistent 10 win program but anybody thinks we will ever stand a chance against the semi-pro programs is kidding themselves and the games against Bama and O$U pointed that out clearly

Georgia Tech went this route with Paul Johnson and it hasn't been a slam dunk.

ND is not ALL in....Jumbo Tron is 10 years late. Training Table was 10 years late. The new renovations are all Academic related minus the Jumbo Tron. When will ND be ahead of the curve on Football again? All the little stuff adds to the big picture. Youth is the future with a mix of tradition. ND should be on the elite side of Coaching, Training Tables, Exercise Science, Game Day Experience, and Recruiting. Football should be viewed as a Academic class. How do we create advantages for us that is in our hands. Parity is evident in College football, so you need to work even harder at creating advantages. AHEAD OF THE CURVE>>>>>Which we are not.
