Stepp is on board

everyone is happy bout it; so it must be good.

Having guys aboard early allows the staff to keep on plan design.

A month ago or so I asked about him in the crystal ball predictions & how accurate they were because a bunch of people I know from McGinley's Golden Ace Irish pub (if you are in Indy & Catholic you know it, LOL) told me he was a lock for ND.
I'm glad they were right.

So are 2018 class now has Jurkovek & Stepp in the backfield with stud Olineman (Lugg, Kraemer, Eichenberg, Boudreaux) & TEs (Wright, Kmet) ahead of them & possibly two more St. Brown brothers at WR. (Pounce & Holmes too).

Offense might score enough points that even BVG could protect?

I think the oline you mentioned are coming to the Irish (besides Lugg) this fall.

With all the talent & depth we have now at OLine that means these guys will probably be redshirt sophomores by then, correct?

And Lug and Kmet are 2017. Step is 2018. You said the 2018 class has and then you read off all those players. I just assumed you were talking about the 2018 class.

And Kraemer and Eichenberg will be redshirt Juniors by 2018.

Love the Ace. Good people.

Yep. Actually just texting back & forth with the youngest, John, who moved to Phoenix last summer. Talked about Stepp & he is going to Vegas UFC 200 weekend to watch my teammate fight ( & me corner) so I'm excited to see him.
Even though I'm from here, friends of mine from Belfast actually told me about it. Turns out people in Ireland who visit even stop by the Ace.

Ah, I see. I just meant that by the time they play we will have stud guys around them. Skill players can contribute a sophomores, but I like my Oline to be experienced upperclassmen. That's what '93 was. Average skill players but stud OLine. (One of the best in ND history in my opinion).

Isn't Kraemer & Eichenberg incoming freshmen this year? So if the redshirt this year, play in 2017, they will be redshirt sophomores, actual Juniors, (so three years of eligibility) in 2018?

I read your post the same as Bodi. No matter, the view that we are getting talented depth across all positions on offense is exactly on point. My hope and expectation is we'll be saying similar things about the defense this time next year. Stepp looks like one hell of a prospect for his age.

I saw him play in person & couldn't believe he was a sophomore. I'm 6'1, 200 & he was as big as me. Hopefully he stays that size & just gets faster the next two years.

awesome pickup. Might be a longshot, but i think we're in it for Zamir White, the #1 overall RB in 2018 as well. I mean, can you even imagine that kind of talent behind the talent we are loading up w/ on the Oline?

just a guess, White is a projected 5* ? I assume such a prospect joining Stepp and ND would be 'good' right ?

I will have the pleasure of watching Markese Stepp at Cathedral the next two years. This young man is special in many ways. He's a first class talent and he's a fine young man. If he can stay injury free he will have an outstanding career for both Irish programs.

If you go to Cathedral games I'm assuming we know each other? Lol.
Do you by chance go to the Ace also?

I frequented the Ace many years ago. A heart ailment keeps me from drinking alcohol now. I know most of the McGinleys, especially the older ones, like Michael.
I usually sit at the top at the 50 yard line and I'm quite vocal at times. I usually fill my face at the outstanding Cathedral tail gate at each game, home and away. I'm not going to make it to Rhea County, TN this year though. That's a bit too far.

I'm friends with Jimmy & John. I still talk to John every week even since he moved to Phoenix. I used to see Jimmy every week too when he was at the courthouse & I was on the circle. But now he has his own practice, I left my office downtown & I don't really drink anymore so not in the Ace as much.
The older McGinleys used to give me free beer to move the piano from room to room.

Maybe I'll meet you at the games. I'm planning on trying to get to East Noble and Mishawaka and I'll be seeing all the local games. It's a good schedule this year.
