Stanford

Stanford's endowment is over $20 billion. I think southern cal is around 5..... I doubt Shaw would ever consider southern cal without laughing hysterically. He is very very happy where he is at.....

USC is a blue blood. They have more fans, more exposure, better recruiting than Stanford. USC would happily pay SEC money for the right head coach. Stanford hasn't so far shown a willingness to pay top dollar.

He might be content to stay in Stanford, but an extra $2 million per year is nothing to sneeze at.

Not sure who the brain trust you speak of is but David Shaw can coach my team any day.

Someone saying he can't get recruits is idiotic and trendy stereo typing and nothing more. Why? Because he uses a fullback ? They run more than pass?
They use a conventional boring offense?

Well that use of the good old fashioned fullback has helped some other teams around the country win championships just fine.
I brought up Shaw as a possible new coach last season when the weekly Kelly Supporters challenged posters to come up with a replacement for Kelly and was severely criticized because he did not produce like Harbaugh did. When I mentioned I wished we could have gotten Harbaugh this , I was also lambasted because he also could not stack up to Kelly. Shaw is a good coach and he learned a great deal from Harbaugh who is even a better coach.

I am thrilled Standford won in such convincing fashion. It improved ND SOS and can be their signature win that any playoff team will need.

I posed.the question to a friend of Shaw's tonight and he echoed a portion of your thoughts regarding Stanford and $. He also said that Shaw and his family are very happy and he sees himself as their coach for his career. He "loves" the place. He has little kids and wants to raise them right where he is.....
