Was at the Stanford game. Very disappointed. Stanford has a great no nonsense coach who keeps things simple and his kids play "tougher" than ND year in and year out.
Stanford special teams - were a lot better than ours. Not surprising though. Weak special teams is a Notre Dame trade mark.
Poor play calling - another Notre Dame trademark.
Losing to Stanford every year except for a couple of exceptions is hard to stomach. We have better players at a lot of positions but we get out coached and out toughed every time we play them.
David Shaw must love this ND game every year. His team plays w their hair on fire the whole game. ND always has spurts and sputters where they play hard.
I'm sure one eyed Pirate Jack is happy as hell w our 9-3 season, but that was a dam big game yesterday- a chance for a 10-2 regular season - a Jan 1 prestigious bowl.
Instead we r back to our customary weed eater bowl game where we will again b favored and have better talent. Yet, we will probably struggle and lose like on Saturday and finish 9-4.
Never ever thought Stanford would have a better football program than Notre Dame.
It does give hope to ND though - that if ND had the right coach then ND could someday b like Stanford and win big games - win games when their not supposed too.
