No they are not.....we are making them real.

Totally disagree. Their defense is flying to the ball, disrupting our rhythm. Part of it, though, is that Notre Dame is not as good as we all want to believe it is. Our defense is very average, and Kelly runs a finesse offense that rarely beats up other teams physically.

Please don't start with the temple is for real crap. As stated above WE are making them real.

You are the classic Notre Dame fan. You can't possibly conceive the other team might have something to do with the outcome of the game. We've made a few mistakes, but so has Temple and they are right in this thing with an excellent defense and a good enough offense.

Not going to disagree about the ND side of things.....we just can't seem to dominate.....sad really.....but....

If you think Temple is an elite team...well wear a helmet in public for your own good.

I didn't say elite, but we haven't been elite for 20 plus years, either, so not sure what you are talking about.

You're right Temple is amazing! We're lucky to be in the game with them as they have USC talent.

You are a classic persona that thinks they know more than everyone else because you talk down to fellow fans. If you think Temple is good...then great....but to put fellow ND fans down because they think differently.....suck it?

Elite was the wrong word.....but the rest of my post stands

Not interested in having an argument, but look at the post I responded to, if you want to call someone out for talking down to a fellow fan.

Here's the deal: Notre Dame is good, Notre Dame is not great. The key to me tonight is that Temple's defense is much quicker and much more disciplined than I expected. I've never understood Kelly's offensive strategy other than I understand it relies on making big plays. WE've never been good in the red zone since he's been our coach.

So your response to this not talking down to a fellow fan?

Seriously....could care less....but you are a hypocrite.

Exactly. Kelly's offense is based on "big plays" … he doesn't want to have to grind it out.

If we are measuring teams as being for real meaning they are playoff contenders then no they are not for real. A win is a win is a win but playoff teams beat Temple by 2 touchdowns +

Not saying they are a playoff team. I'm saying they are a solid, well coached team. They'll probably go out next week and lose to the School of the Wheelchair-Bound Blind Midgets.

I remember Holtz saying teams cannot play more than three or four "big games" a year. I think Temple came in loose and confident. This was a much bigger game for them than for us in that sense. Don't forget, Kizer is a first-year starter and he is already doing so much more as a quarterback than Golson did in 2012.This defense had him confused at times. I think Temple got the good breaks (both interceptions) and seemed to get away with interference a couple of times. We made quite a few bonehead plays tonight. Keivare Russell had his head up his ass all game until he made that pic.

All in all, an exciting game and it's what makes college football great.

And by the way, even if we beat Temple 56-0, I'd expect us to be ranked about 10th when the playoff poll comes out. We aint' going to the playoffs. The Big 12 got screwed last year, and they ain't getting screwed again.

Temple gave ND all the Irish they could handle. Way to go Irish!!! It wasn't pretty but ND came out with a win.

I normally never post on game day but this game is worthy of posting - ND earned this win tonight.

this is a game that i hate as an ND fan. Lets be honest, if Temple was playing ANY other top 10 team outside of maybe OSU that game is an afternoon kick. But b/c ND is there it has to be a primetime game, Gameday comes to town and the fans have all day to lather up for kickoff. Plus this is the biggest game EVER for them, 100 recruits were on hand. I shouldnt be surprised it was close, these kids from Temple had 9 days since their last game, and a stadium that was much louder for a game than it ever will be again this year. This was similar when we used to play purdue and they'd get a night game for us to play at their place even though they werent good. It always seems to be tougher winning on the road when its a prime time game, that goes for everyone. and we almost always have our road games in primetime. now next week, i hope we can get up for a noon kick.

To who and why? Strange post from you, SAL. Are you implying there are two teams in the AAC that are better than ND?
I believe they will lose to Memphis and assuming they win their division I believe they will lost to the winner of Memphis/Houston again. ND didn't play well. Not implying either Memphis or Houston are better then ND.

We left fourteen points on the field with two red zone int's. Convert those two opportunities and we would be talking about a solid butt whipping. Temple deserves a lot of profs for playing an inspired tough game, but we did play down to their level. They took away Prosise and dared Kizer to beat them, and he did.

Houston would not beat ND....your delusional.....I guess they would be USC, Clemson, GA Tch.....relax...grab two fingers of your fav hard liquor.....its all good.....UCLA, #23 beat Colo by 7....i dont think Colo has a win.....Stan is losing.....Clemson had a game against NC State....its CFB...tuff to dominate.

ND won the game. Maybe it was not as comfortable as you like BUT the Irish won. People need to quit acting like football is a video game - it's 11 on 11 and they are real people. Sometimes they win the play...it happens.

When is the last time any of you whiny fools looked through your facemask at the facemask at the guy across from you and punched your way through him? Something tells me that the majority of you are internet fools who have no idea what it is like to look into that guy's eyes every snap and beat him.

I am glad this has been reduced to a "you aren't an D1 player so you cant comment on the performance of the team" conversation. ND won, and thats good but coming off a bye week ND should have came in and wrecked shop but they didn't... its disappointing for many, not sure why its a big deal that fans want more out of their team.

I played competitive football my whole young life and can tell you the record of every championship team I played on. But, if you ask me to tell you the score of every game I played then 'no'. Sometimes we just scrapped out wins. A win is a win is a win...it just is.

I hate night games.
