The BIG 10 has been talked about over and over as the best conference in college football for the last month and a half by all the EXPERTS. Now the team who won that conference doesn't get into the playoffs and not only that are passed over by a team that they beat head to head on the football field. How does that make any sense???

Yep all bs subjective voting crap. Need a defined system and 4 team playoff we will never have it. 2 losses killed em plus they love the bucknuts for some reason. Need 8 teams, 5 conf winners and three wild cards at a minimum. 16 would be better. Don't want to hear but "than we will be wondering who is no. 9". This is total bullshit, it gets the right teams in, like USC, Penn ST, Michigan, etc........what a playoff that would be.

Yup, I'm no PSU fan, but damn the CFP is just another NCAA joke. Freakin can't do anything right.

Chitown...been making the same argument for a couple years now, along with many others. The conf champion of the big five conf and three at large berths makes the best sense to me. None of the powers that be took issue when the big 12 was passed over, but this one makes a mockery of the conference championship, and that should get their attention.

Good post, I agree wholeheartedly. If they are going to have a " playoff system " then you need to have more than 4 teams. I have been saying that an 8 team playoff would be as close to a good system as you could get. I would also say 8 is the limit, no more than that. At least that way teams with 2 losses that are still very good , would have say. Penn state is clearly a much better team now than they were earlier in the season. The loss to Pitt in the first game hurt them. Still they proved they they belong. If there was an 8 team playoff , they would have a fair shot.

PSU had two bad losses and Huskies only had the one good loss to a streaking USC. End of Story.
CFB coaches are not going to agree to an 8 game playoff until and unless the regular season / conf. championships and bowls are all changed because there is a limit to how many games a Student/Athlete can manage.

PSU was throat punched twice and USC will make it a third.

I'm not so sure about that. Penn state is much better than people think. I'm not sold on SC. Penn st has some playmakers on offense that they haven't had before. It should be very good rose bowl.

This is actually good news for Notre Dame with regard to the 4-team playoff. The less the playoff is locked into conference champions only, the better for an independent like ND, IMO.

Of course, ND is now about to be all the way back to year one of the dreaded five-year rebuilding plan before ever being good enough to make the playoff, so maybe it will be an 8-team playoff by then.

Yea I don't understand how you win a P5 conference and beat head to head the team in front of you and not got in.

I have a hard time believing a 11-2 Oh St who wins the Big10 and beats Penn St gets left out if the roles are reversed.

PSU lost a game by 40, and has two losses. They have nothing to bitch about, and neither does Michigan.

Today on all the sports radio shows it was consensus the Committee got it right. Coach from Penn St... is fine with Rose Bowl. Big 10 was the best this year. See if that follows in Bowls.
