As disappointing as this is to hear about Redfield. Glad that ND is not selling out their integrity for a football game. Goes to show the difference between ND's handling of Redfield and OSU's of Elliott.
At this point you have to wonder if Redfield will even return next year. It's been frustrating to see all his talent size speeed and athleticism and not be able to put it together.
A shame to hear about Butler. Has any other team endured this many injuries in one year? Next man in. Show us what you got Watkins.
First of all, employment and playing college football are two different things.Yes I'm sure your employer would suspended you for getting into a car accident.

Secondly, getting into a car crash with a suspended license is actually grounds for dismal or suspenaion at my job. I'm a counselor for my county and am required to drive to schools and homes.
comments like that are just argus bait... you are better then that
you live in fear of argie....wow! your better than that!
Most high school and college football players are not the star running back at Ohio State. With that said, every move Elliott and other high profile college athletes make is heavily scrutinized. Is it fair? Absolutely not, but that's the reality. It's expected of them to be model citizens, as they represent their universities.Yes, your the exception. Do you think every high school player, college player who got into an accident was suspended? My gosh, come on man, stop this craziness.
I know ND is the best in everything, and they do everything right. Man, i love ND too, but stop this crap about suspensions for a car accident.

SAL please direct me to one decent thread on this forum in the last monthAlmost all of the decent threads in the last week have been hijacked by those idiots.

I disagree with that being the reason why ND won't win the national championship. ND is not that far away from having a legitimate national championship contender team. I understand your sentiment though about ND's integrity making it more difficult for the team to win games/championships. I will say that I think ND does have a history of being too harsh when it comes to punishments. As far as Redfield's punishment in particular, we don't have any facts. Just speculation that he violated curfew. If that's the case, then yeah I'd say being sent home is too harsh. I'd probably suspend him for a half, but we just gotta trust in Kelly and hope he handled the situation the right way.And that's why ND won't win another championship. Ohio state would win maybe 2 more in next 10 years. But we can still pat our selves on the back for our integrity. How does it compromise integrity if he was given a warning or maybe suspended for 1st quarter or something. It's not like he killed someone.
I thought D-Master and Cool Irish have booth started threads on recruiting that have been decent. IIO started a thread about closing out the class that had some real good discussion on it that went haywire. I meant they are there. I don't really understand what you like about this board since you complain all the time about the posters here and evidently are having such a difficult time believing that there are decent threads here so I am not sure what you want exactly.SAL please direct me to one decent thread on this forum in the last month

You should be a Auburn or FSU fan. You would fit right in with the half wits. And that's why ND won't win another championship. Ohio state would win maybe 2 more in next 10 years. Yeah because both players have been so stellar this year. This reminds me of the '88 USC game when the team voted to send Watters and Brooks home because they were late to a team breakfast or something like that. At the time, I thought it was a ridiculous punishment, but later it came out out that they had both been late numerous times that season.
I just seriously doubt that it was a simple matter of a one-time curfew violation.
I do think a 14-point OSU victory has just become a 21 to 24-point victory, though, with the loss of both players.
.

I expect the secondary play will be at least as good/bad as they have all season. Actually it has just been the safety play that has been atrocious. Hope Studstill is ready to start next year. No, because a thin secondary that has already lost Russell, Tranquill, Sebastian, and Crawford, has now lost two more.
I'm not sure where you live but I'm pretty sure driving on a suspended license is 1) against the law and 2) shows disregard of the law. It's not the act but sometimes the mindset of the act. EE obviously didn't care his license was suspended and if he didn't get in an accident he would do it again.Yes, your the exception. If the entire team abused curfew would we forfeit the game and go back to SB?Redfield sent home for violation of team rules.

this. well said.Let's not forget that Lou Holtz sent Ricky Watters and Tony Brooks home the night before the biggest game of the year against USC for being late to a team dinner. Both players had a history of testing the boundaries before coach Holtz finally decided that was the last straw. It's very possible Max may have had a couple of strikes against him before whatever he did in Arizona. I don't think any coach would capriciously suspend a player for one minor violation.
