Seasons over

ND will never be a really top team as long as Kelly is here ! He puts too much pressure on his QB's
To win the games. Wimbush was under pressure all night long !
The Line is key, and we just do not have a big strong tough line against good teams. Lou and Joe Moore
Was our last coaching staff that that had great lines with good running backs !
Those days are gone forever, and so is ND football !

We didnt get beat by a true freshman. We got beat because of a lack of offensive production which destroys all the momentum. The D did a nice job considering we dont have elite talent in all the positions. My only criticism of the D is linebackers need to attack RB more and blitzers need to make stops. Other than that, way better than BVG.

Would watch out for BC next. First road game, noon start, coming off a tough loss. I would not be surprised if this game is close or even a loss.
I wasn't expecting for the Irish to go undefeated.
With Ga playing a first time starter gave me hope, and the defense shined, but the offense will ways be this type of offense under Kelly.
NDs QB is still learning, and the strength was the running game. Ga shut down NDs strength. Smart coaching

Here's to getting better for next week

I wasn't expecting 12-0 either, however, this was a winnable game at home. The defense played well enough for you to win. The offense shit the bed in the second half. I figured ND wins this game and wins at Miami, loses to USC and Stanford and goes 10-2. I must have drunk the Kool-Aid. Now 8-4 or 7-5 is highly likely.

ND played their hearts out tonight and I am proud of them. Coming off a 4-8 season, these guys went toe-to-toe with a physical UGA team and had a chance late to win it. There's not much more fans can ask out of the team.

Yes, as a fan of Notre Dame, I can ask that they win these types of games at home. They were not playing Alabama for crying out loud. They lost to a freshman QB. Let that sink in. Kelly can't get his team over the top in these games. He needs to go.

Heads up, gents! We had another sellout, gave another team a big signature win on our legendary field, and filled up the coffers once again! ND football is grander than ever! I raise a glass of Moet to BK!

Their QB didn't beat us. Their defense did. But I liked our defensive play. Much improved over last year.

They played their hearts out but they don't deserve a coach like Kelly. They lose every big game. Every big game since 2012.

BW was in his second start in a new system. UGA's defense was playing their a$$es off tonight.

Granted, there are no 'good losses' and watching BW get blindsided was hard to watch but there is a grit to ND this year I haven't seen in some time. If you think fans are upset then imagine what the players feel. This is not a team that will concede any games this year.

The players are not the point. They played hard. Brian Kelly gets outcoached in every big game. Every one. It has been eight years.
A good head coach makes all the difference.

They had a chance to win late and came up short - that's football. I am not a Kelly lover but he brought in some good coaches this year and it's making a difference. Although, I felt the Offensive Coordinator was entirely too predictable and went into the teeth of UGA's defense all night.

They always come up short against good teams under Kelly. . Always. Think about it.
And I really don't think Georgia will win more than 8 games this year. Too predictable of an offense. How many more years of losing close to good teams do we need? Kelly has allready been here 8 years. And it won't change.

The team was driving with 2 minutes left and BW got blindsided by a speed rush around McGlinchey. UGA made one more play than ND tonight - they earned the win.

CANTEEN? SMITH? FINKE? Where are all those talented receivers (Sanders, Claypool, Mckinley, etc). Where were our "great" tight ends? Dexter? We had two transfers and a walk on leading the way in crunch time. Wow. I guess the coaches know best.

The one thing I did not like tonight was the three runs that went nowhere late in the game when ND held a 2-point lead. However, BK is not calling the offense this year.

with games @Michigan State, Miami and Stanford plus SC at home, this team will be 8-4 at best. 7-5 or 6-6 is likely ND got beat by a true freshman, awful.

Don't give up so soon. We are picked to win the SEC east this year and it takes a lot of talent to do that. JMO, but I thought UGA looked more talented and athletic at most all positions tonight, but you guys hung in and almost won. I know it sucks to lose, especially after the high hopes from week one. I think you may be surprised with the results coming your way, but don't give up after one loss, thinking like that is why 50% of the stadium seats had UGA fans in them. I think you guys will do pretty well here on.

In that regard, yeah, they most likely do. I think it is silly to argue that even a mediocre coach wouldn't know what players deserve to start. It's the offensive philosophy of ND under Kelly that has sucked. He could take that same offense and do very well elsewhere. But it doesn't work at ND and never will.

Notre Dame should have won this game tonight. Fromm was making his first college start. I don't want to hear about grit and moral victories. I want to see Notre Dame start taking down ranked teams again. I want to see a competently run offense. I want to see signature wins, especially on their home field. I don't want to hear about the Oklahoma game five years ago anymore. I don't want to hear about 2015 either or the Music City Bowl. I want to see a highly-rated offensive line play like one and not just against teams like Temple. I want to see a confidently and competently led Notre Dame football team return to national prominence and kick some f**kinig ass again. Is that too much to ask?

Every subsequent year, I beg for a Joe Moore-type o-line coach to return to ND. Until we learn how to control the line of scrimmage, we'll be average @ best. Please, NO MORE hype about one or more of the offensive line being All-Americans. IF we had All-Americans on the line, we'd be able to run against anyone!

The type of offense Kelly runs doesn't require that type of control sadly

Of course UGA has more talent lol. ND hasn't had much of it to speak of for a long time. They've won once against a top-5 team in the last 20 years.

The stadium was all Georgia because ND keeps raising ticket prices for a garbage product. Hopefully you guys had a great time but beating ND is like beating the MAC champ.

Certainly you remember ND going 4-8 last year. Both teams came out to win tonight's game. ND has a lot of room to grow but they lost by one point to the predicted SEC East champ in a hard fought game and the sky is falling. Some fans just need to check themselves and stop blasting the improvements ND is making. Last year ND would have lost this game by 20 or 30 points.

Cough, cough... ND beat ND. Not the QB and not the defense. Go freaking 4 Tight Ends if you have too but you can NOT allow your QB to get blown up like that. 2 TE and Two backs on every single possession (ala LSU game) until Georgia backs off of the edge.

It's just the same thing every year. ND sticks with their game plan and when the other team shows that HEY we game planned for your game plan...Brian Kelly has no answer. A rain storm? So what... we're sticking to the game plan. Last year was time. Maybe this year will finally see an end to it.

Absolutely. Unlike last year where we couldn't close out games to lesser teams, we got beat today by a better team. Our defense is playing faster and out safeties improved a lot from last week. I know he's not popular tonight, and not with me, but not long ago, Kelly said our defense was ahead of our offense. He was right.

He is the head coach. He may not call alll the plays but in big situations late in gamse the head coach will tell the Ocordinator to get aggressive or be conservative. And Kelly played not to lose instead of win. The Irish are loaded with talent. More so than Georgia butt Kelly can't game plan. Georgia is not a great team. 8 and 4. Maybe 9 and 3 at best IMO.

I like you IG. I am glad you enjoyed the game. But Kelly has excuse after excuse. Winning is everything and Kelly can't win.

But why can't Kelly get at least one upset? The better teams don't always win-look at all the crappy teams Kelly has lost to. Your a really smart guy. Think about it. And it was a home game.

Last year? Last year was year 7 of the Kelly Era and it ended 4-8 with a quarterback now starting in the NFL.

I didn't 'like' the game and I like you as well, Bodi. I saw improvement in how ND played in a hard fought game. Sure, they came up short by a point and Kirby was practically doing back flips on the sideline.

Let the season play out and ND will likely win 4-5 more games over last year. That may not impress most fans but it's a huge improvement with the schedule ND plays.

Channeling Bob Knight... I didn't come here to win 4 more games. 8-5 is for losers and Brian Kelly's career at ND is... 8-5. He's a loser. He talks a good game and plans a good game but when he gets punched, he has no answer. Zippo.

I don't disagree...and that is why is SUCKS! I liked the Kelly hire until I actually watched his offense for a year. Now, I can't wait until he leaves!

I thought I'd never say this since I'm "old school"...but ND may need to go out on a limb and hire a head coaches who have never been in that position before, sign them to 4-yr contracts, then if they don't work out, c'ya! No real coach wants to come here and deal with the challenges presented by this university. On top of it all, they sold out to NBC a long time ago, and it's been a slippery slope every since.
