S &C Coach

Supposed to be announced soon. Anyone hear any names?
Only name I’ve read about was Brady Collins. He’s S & C coach at Wisconsin and came from Cincinnati, etc…. Don’t know if this is anything more than pure speculation because of other hires Freeman has made from Wisconsin with Cincinnati time together.

Wisconsin has an excellent program so that would be a good hire

Was there ever any explanation given for why Balis quit so abruptly?

Probably something he read on the internet.

Has to be. What else could it be?
The boards biggest tool and troll is out again. Let me summarize since I know you can’t read full articles.

The ensuing five years under Landow, however, saw one injury calamity after another befall the Broncos. Mile High Huddle's Erick Trickel did a case study on the Broncos' injury woes under Landow, and the results were heinous.

In 2018, the Broncos were in the top 10 for most unique injuries that caused a player to miss a game. Then in 2019, they were top seven and have been in the top five every year since 2020. So the Broncos were a relatively healthy team, as in not dealing with many unique injuries, to becoming one of the worst.

While ligament tears and others can be freak injuries, the number of soft tissue ailments also increased for the Broncos after the switch was made to Landow in 2018. Compared to the number of soft tissue injuries from 2014-17, they rose by nearly 30% in the 2018-2021 seasons.

I nailed it.

I read this on the internet, so it must be true.

Yes, training an entire football team collectively in toughness is different.
That's what that coach does, whether it's college or the pros.

You mentioned the injuries with the Broncos. I understand the concern. But, linemen have people rolled up on the back of their legs. That is something the S&C guy can't control. You don't know how all those guys were injured, just that they were.

How about giving him a year or two? If he fails, then judge.

I also read that these types of injuries have continued at Denver at the same rate after he was let go.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Hopefully it's just coincidence but 5 years is a pretty good sample size. Time will tell I suppose.

I feel like this is a step back for you. If people didn't curate what they learned from sources available on the internet, there wouldn't be much content on this board. What could you possibly be thinking when you post something like that? I am going to grade this F+, and the plus is because I know you can do better!

Has never lead a college strength and performance program. Interesting choice. Al Golden had not coordinated a defense since 2005. That worked out well. Hopefully this is more Golden, and less Parker & Freeman having to learn via trial & error.

The taking a step back to go two steps forward, is at the point where ND needs to start taking those 2 steps forward. Because the last 2 years have been a step back on the ND P&L which are. Wins & Losses.

....yet the article doesn't mention that when the broncos rebuilt they filled their roster with players with known histories of injuries and missing about 1/2 of their games prior to coming to the broncos.

Also doesn't mention that the nflpa surveys gave his staff a A- which was the highest score on the Broncos those years.

Trash post by an ND hater ignoring the good and focusing on the bad.
