Recruiting

That was the kind of game that could inject a shot of adrenaline in our recruiting. We don't have a below average class right now, but we could always use some more difference makers. Praying for a stud WR, CB, S and DE.
Yeah... It might open some eyes.

Couldn’t have gone better for a huge recruiting night one would think. Watched the interview with Tom Loy afterwards:

- Wiltfong put a CB in our favor for Amon
- He sees Murray going with the Irish
- positive comments on Petit-Frere and our chances
- I was pleasantly surprised to hear he likes our chances with Tuliaupupu
- Still sees us gett8ng the predicted Irish leans like Tariq, Tremble, Moala, etc.

FWIW,

Wiltfong CB'd St. Brown to ND.

Sinclair CB'd Murray to ND.

Multiple reports have Moala likely committing this weekend.

The guys ND needs to keep grinding are...

OT: Nick Petit-frere
OT: Cade Mays
OG: Chris Murray
WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown
WR: Lawrence Keys
DE: Thomas Booker
DE: Joseph Ossai
LB: Solomon Tuliapupu
CB: Julius Irvin
CB: Kyler Gordon
CB: Houston Griffith (pending academics)
CB: Alontae Taylor

Just have to keep winning and stay in their ears. Every single week.

IIO, you’ve been pretty adamant all along that Amon would not end up in South Bend. Looks like we actually have a realistic shot at him.

Wish ESB had a more active game (ex- a second TD reception or a few more catches); otherwise, I think we made a good impression with little bro in the building.

I will believe it when I see it but would I ever love to be flat out wrong here. Polian, Long, Kelly and Alexander have been working their tails off to not give up and it appears Amon-Ra is listening. It would help substantially if USC keeps tailing off and is a less attractive option. Keep and eye on Ohio State and Alabama making a play here as well.

I hope not. It would be nice for USC to win out and help our SOS for a playoff pick.

I wonder if Darnold does indeed go this year if that will affect his decision... Or if Tee S stays. Glad his brother had a nice TD yesterday. I do believe BW will get better and better as a thrower. And with the attrition at OL this year next year we might have to throw it more?

Yes. If he strays from Tennessee look for Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and possibly Ohio State to all get looks. We'll be up against all the heavy hitters you'd expect for a Southern, 5 star, top 20 player.
But only one of those teams has Harry Houdini, the NFL O-Line whisperer!

Now that we have established both the run and pass lets add a 5 star running back in addition to Amon Ra.

ND is trending way up but still have a lot of work to do on the field . IMO the personnel on that field last night was physical and fast. I thought ND was both faster and much tougher. Very impressed up front and as for recruiting this team right now has depth and is very young. A great recruiting class is already in the works and I see it getting better. More importantly the player development is better now then ever in Bk 's tenure. BONUS $$$$ for Pay Elko and Balis needs to be in the works now Jack..

The drop off will not be as much as it would appear by losing the left side. I think Bars has the talent to match big mike. We return basically 4 lineman with starter snaps in bars, Sam, kraemer, and hainsey. Eichenberg and Banks trend more towards very good lineman than avg lineman in my opinion.

Jurkovec was there too - hopefully Jurkovec chatted up ARSB, and Kevin Austin too...

really, he'd only have one year with Wimbush - Phil would most likely be his QB...

We will take a step back losing Nelson, but it won't be a huge step. Maulers like him only come around every few years.

Just a note, Adams 3 td runs and his 85 yd run came through the right side. I mean what do you do with that? Def. coordinators do all they can to to stop Q and Mike and then Adams punches you in the face 3 times on the right side.

Part of that is because Sam is playing at an extremely high level and despite the odd mental lapse, Alex has been much better since he moved to guard. Kraemer gets better every week and is going to be a load in the run game as an upper classman.

Jurkovec will go down as a top 5 qb in ND history. The kid is real nice. If he and others can get St. Brown to come along as well, they are going to put up Texas Tech like numbers.

wow, someone has declared Jurkovec a top 5 all timer before he's on campus. I mean I like the enthusiasm but lets pump the breaks a little here
I also predicted that Tommy Kraemer is going to be a first round draft pick before he set foot on campus. I live in a area where I get to watch elite high school ball and when you see players making plays, you know it's not against the school of the blind.

Jurkovec reminds me of Marcus Mariota. Not quite the 4.48 speed Marcus has, but with near identical 6'5 frames, Jurkovec is exceptionally athletic (great basketball player too). I bet with some legitimate speed training He's be a high 4.5 guy.

I watched a couple of his games. No expert here. I think he could be one of the most dominant QB's the Irish have ever had

I'm as excited for Phil J. As anyone is, but he needs to get to 5 star status by all services before I'm willing to make a public statement that he will be a top five notre dame qb. It's takes a whole lot of other things also such as coaching and recruits to pan out among other factors. Sam Darnold case in point.

Phil is criminally underrated relative to the other top QB's in the class. It all stems from a single camp performance in which he had a bad day and that "sealed his fate". Recruiting can work like that.

Difference makers like Tyler Eifert, Nick Martin, Tony Jones Jr, Josh Adams, Matthias Farley, Greer Martini, TJ Jones (4 current NFL players)... ALL 3* (5.5) PLAYERS. Let's hope the 3* are these type of guys and of course we'd like a Nelson and a Manti and a Jaylon in there!

Give me 4 and 5 star offensive and defensive linemen and quarterbacks. Those guys are the least abundant and the most scrutinized recruits that everyone is vying for. There are literally dozens of skilled position players that are undervalued each year by the rankings systems, for a variety of reasons. If ND loads up on talent along both lines and at quarterback, they can be just be above average at recruiting the skilled positions and they'll be competitive every year.

They have better coaching in the NFL, along with playing alongside better football players. It does help.

My bad you were responding correctly, I am the dick here. When I was looking on my phone I thought I had read another poster had responded. My bad.
