* It's a road game.

* Home field advantage for BC.

* Yes, it's a rivalry and a BC win is long over due. Winning would mean everything to BC and nothing to ND.

* ND fans, players and coaches won't take BC seriously and will be looking ahead to MSU.

* The BC defense is good enough to stop ND. BW is questionable under pressure.

* The weather could turn out to be really wet and windy. ND hasn't performed well in foul weather conditions (NC State).

* BC can afford to take risks. Nobody expects them to win so why not throw in some gimmicks?

* 3:30PM kick off

* Dare I say BC has better coaching??? (To be determined.)

* 1993

By all means, please feel free to expand on some of the reasons above and add other reasons for concern as well.

We will blow them out. Drue tranquil after the game said "I feel bad for the other teams we play because we will punish them" now the offense needs to tighten up and execute and d needs to keep foot on the gas

I thought we'd lost to Georgia. Wimbush just isn't ready yet -- that was clear yesterday.

We are going to crush BC next week. Crush 'em. Not take 'em seriously, are you kidding?. Are you guys feeling that frustration this morning? Did you wake up with the image of MQ missing a block, or a push out of bounds? Think of what the players are dealing with. The boys will be play mad, mad, mad.

Sadly ND doesn't have a home field, so every team has home field advantage against us.

MAD!!!.................hummm, could be a positive. Or, in some cases it could be a negative..........unsportsman like conduct, late hits, face masks, targeting, piling on, generally making stupid decisions, etc.

Oh, give it a rest! Shouldn't you be annoying the Clemson or Florida boards? FSU does play them and I do know that the gators do have a free rival board.

Hey it's BC. It like playing Navy. This is their big game. ND will be tested and if the line plays like it did, they'll lose.

BC got whipped by Wake Forest yesterday. If we don't win that one, Kelly will be getting his walking papers.

Re: "It like playing Navy."

Humm............just curious..............just what is BK's track record vs. Navy?

And you are right, this IS THEIR BIG GAME! They win this game and that makes their whole year..............rush the field and tear down the goal posts!

Apparently the game is a 12PM start. Just curious, how has ND done in early starts on the road in the BK era?

Hey Duo, I just read the game was move to 3:30. Not sure why, but it has been moved. Maybe the tv people think ND will lose. So if you put it on later it's a bigger audience. I'm just speculating but you never know.

Thanks guys. I think this could turn out to be a pretty darned good game. Two rival Catholic University coaches fighting to keep their jobs.

Are you sure you aren't just really, really bored with Florida State in a holding pattern because of Irma?

(Its not intended as a dig)

The OP is, without a doubt, the biggest jackass loser visitor this board has ever seen. There have been many, but he takes the title. Jam the ACC, FSU and any of your general thoughts as far up your ass as possible, duoche. Get a life and some help regarding your obsession w/ ND. If you really do have mental problems, I apologize, if not, go f urself!

You only need one reason to be concerned about BC. We play them in our next game. It would be nice to get to a level where we don't have to be concerned about certain opponents, but we are not there yet. We also don't play many opponents that fit into that scenario. Georgia is playing FCS school Samford this weekend. They don't have to be concerned about them.

Curious question for anyone that was a ND fan in 1993 (followed the football program closely ):

What was the feeling among the fans when ND was getting ready to play BC in their last game? Was there a level of confidence anywhere similar to what some posters have expressed in this thread? Again, just curious.

Huge fan in 93. We didn't have message boards at the time but all the fans I knew then were confidant. We had just beat the free shoes U so BC should have been a cakewalk.

Then the game, and oh what a game it was. The yelling and screaming that came from our house was over the top. I see my old neighbors and they still kid me about it.

Re: 1993

"BC should have been a cakewalk."

And if memory serves correctly that was a home game. You never know in CFB! Is deja vu possible???

Myself and my friends saw it as a cakewalk. I highly doubt Coach Holtz or his team saw it as such.

Troll,
Deja vu is possible, but it certainly wouldn't be a reminder of a loss to BC in 93, more like recent games against Tulsa, Duke, Northwestern, NC St, Navy.

Get a clue.

BC was ranked #12 coming into the game at home but after beating the breaks off them the previous year...was I concerned? Not really but besides the Orange Bowl loss against Colorado (still that faux clipping call angers me) this is by far the most painful defeat for me.
