Hey guys. I am from West Virginia and my friends and I are planning a little trip this fall. We want to go places we have never been and would like to go. So our plan this fall is to drive up to Chicago to see a couple Cubs Brewers games, then go to the Michigan St - Notre Dame game on Saturday and catch an NFL game (in Cincy or Indy) on Sunday. We are trying to figure out financials for the trip and what the tickets are going to cost us. We are going to try to get the mlb and nfl tickets once they go on sale. But the ND game I figure is going to be our most expensive ticket.

I'm assuming single game tickets won't be sold to the public for a school like Notre Dame. So my likely destination is StubHub. When would be the best time to try to purchase tickets and how much could we expect to be spending? We don't need "great" seats but would like to have decent seats. Also any tips for what we can expect, where to tailgate, what to do, etc.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. We can't wait to go to South Bend!!

you can get single game tickets thru the ticket office. Best bet to get cheaper tickets is the parking lot before the game. Not really a bad seat here except maybe the on field tickets in the south endzone.

Michigan State is probably a game that will sell out in the lottery, so there may not be any public sale. But tickets are usually available on game day, and if you want peace of mind, on stubhub.

Michigan State will be very popular but as an example you could have had good tickets for USC at face value this year. Michigan State will have likely good weather and a close rival fan base but tickets are usually not a problem. I can give you a fantastic ticket broker to deal with or just take a look around and you will find tickets. Price wise which I think is what you are asking is anywhere from face value for this game or + $50

If you just want to get into the stadium then face or less for sure if you are patient.

Appreciate the comments. We got excited for our trip so early and want to get everything planned and paid for so we don't have to worry about it later on. Once the NFL schedule releases we will start buying our tickets everywhere. Thanks again and in advance for any more comments.

The Cubs tickets will be the most expensive of the 3. Toward the end of last year their games started to become a pretty hot ticket. That being said, pay for good Cubs tickets. Don't go with the cheaper tickets to Wrigley. At Notre Dame Stadium there is not a bad seat in the house, but at Wrigley there are (old stadium mezzanine.)

My suggestion for Wrigley is to spend the extra money and get close to the field or sit in the bleachers. They are really pumping money into the stadium and the surrounding area. Wrigley will be electric.

I have been to Wrigley (7 years ago) my friends have not. I'm a diehard Cubs fan so I'm looking forward to going back. I am aware of the bad seats and plan to get bleacher seats for at least 1 game. We might end up going to two games at Wrigley. But thank you very much for the heads up.
