Don't underststand why our offensive line was not ranked high by the college football publications . R. Stanley ,a high 1st round pick.N. Martin ,a 3rd to 5th round pick. McGlinchey ,another at least 2nd or 3rd round and possibly a 1st round if he stays at ND like Z.Martin. And then there is Q. Nelson who will in all likelihood will be a 1st rounder . plus Elmer who will also be on some pro teams' draft board .

And as the season progresses ,the line will get that much better .

I love nelson and mcglinchey and their approach. physical and pretty fundamentally sound for young players. bright futures for both.

I did not get xrays. I waited a couple of days. And soaked it in ice. The swelling has gone down.
Thanks for asking.
Be careful with it.... lots of small bones in the hand/wrist....could be a hairline...hope it's just a sprain, bruise.... cancel your next 4 weeks of bouts....

I am retiring from bouts forever. I thought I was done. My last bout was in 2001 when a Arizona Diamond back hit a lucky bloop single in the 9th innng in the 7th deciding game of the World series on Mariano Rivera to beat my Yankees. I kicked a stool and broke my toe.
I swore I would never do that again but Coach Kelly calling a timeout with 90 seconds left with a 23 point lead and the clock running was one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. He gave Georgia Tech life.

Cause there are young, McGlinchey and Nelson are first time starters, Elmer is a second year starter that struggled last year and Martin's play last year was plagued by injuries.

Paul Johnson is about a big a curmudgeon as one can find. He did not want to give Procise credit, and instead gave it to our o-line. To some extent I agree with him. I think Procise is awesome on this team as his ability to accelerate and his top end speed work perfectly with a line that eliminates the front 7. I think we will see more long runs from CJ and he will not be caught like Tarean might. At the end of the day. This is a great line to be running behind. Q and Mc really make them a force.

Agree with this part. Was scratching my head last Saturday wondering "Why in hell call a TO now"?

This o-line will be just as good next year -- even after losing a first and third rounder to the NFL! Will it be: OT: McGlinchy and Bars OG: Nelson and Elmer and C: Hoge?

(*Pretty cool that two of our starters who weren't going to start at ND this year -- Golson and Hegarty -- are both starting on Top Ten Teams! What's that say about our talent this year!)

I just re-watched the game. Now don't punch anything.

We were up 30-7 and Ga tech had 3rd and 6 at our 24. We were ready to finish them off.

kelly then called the timeout at the 55 second mark. I believe that's when you threw your bomb.

(There was 12 seconds on the play clock and tech had 1 timeout left.)

What ensued over the next 1/2 minute or so was a mess....... A 30-7 masterpiece was foiled.

PS kelly called timeout to end the first half at 1:19 to get the ball back.

That caused another mess.

We got the ball back on the 30 after a 45 yard punt, threw a couple of passes and fumbled.....

We then broke up some passes, got called for PI, got a sack, we then lost Tranquill on top of it and they missed a FG....

We were very fortunate that ga tech got no points or any scoring momentum heading into the locker room.

Those were maybe the 2 worst endings to halves in the same game the I've ever seen out of ND....

We need a solid/smart dominating game tomorrow. Our starters need to get off the field asap.

We have a huge fish to fry next week....

What I'd like to see against UMass tomorrow is ND get up to 35-0 or 42-0 midway through the 2nd quarter, so the "subs" can start getting into the game and give our starters a break.

But this isn't likely going to happen. Most likely we'll get up fast, but then let UMass back into the game. And it will possibly be a nail biter until the 4th quarter.

Since Clemson has a bye this week ,and of course they'll be watching the UMass game .Kelly might just play it close to the vest and stick with more of a running game .

In this particular game ,don't entirely buy that Kelly and his staff and the team are entirely focused on UMass and not looking ahead to Clemson .

UMass played tough in their loss against Temple at home .But in the Colorado game ,UMass score 14 points in the first half to Colorado 's. 31. And Colorado scored 17 points in 3rd quarter and no points in 4th (might have let up some against UMass). Colorado had over 558 total yards ,over 400 rushing and over 150 passing . UMass had about 400 yds of offense with 20 first downs .Looked like their offense could get some yardage .

Every team usually comes and plays their best game against us ,but still we should put this game away early .

Posted this on the wrong thread ,should have been on UMass prediction posts.

Bodi,
Glad to learn that your hand seems to be ok ! Hopefully, today will be a more relaxing and enjoyable game ?
