"Putting up a full page ad in the South Bend Tribune"

listened to Mike Frank's Podcast. He mentioned the rumored ad in the south bend times and said if that happens it will not be good for kelly. Basically advising Kelly to ignore it and win games. Win games and he wins the fans back go 8-5 your head on a platter will be demanded

My problem with all this just what good can come from this. It will not make them fire Kelly or Swarbrick if that's the goal. You think they don't realize what's at stake. You think they believe all is well in ND fandom. This is just crazy. More harm then good

Sometimes a person or organization needs to hit rock bottom before they change their self-destructive behavior. If that means the recruiting class get obliterated, fans boo Kelly and Jack at every chance and it cost them games and recruits so be it.

Outside of money there is no reason to keep Kelly. Forget that he'll never bring ND a consistent winning program he's been actively looking for another job for years, we have had more off the field problems than under any coach I can remember.

Short term pain, long term gain.

So what you're saying that it is OK to sabotage the recruiting class to try to force the hand of the admin. This is asinine.

I agree the ad will have some negativity effect on the program. and yes it won't force a firing of kelly and Jack S. however, it lets the admin know that fans do not like the direction. and if things go poorly for kelly and the team. it would surprise me if they made a change. if kelly gets off his lazy ARSE and do the right thing on game strategy, coaching changes and play calling we may have a chance to be in the conversation

Well, it's a moot point. Posted previously providing background to the fact this ad and billboard effort is dead.

No asinine is what the the administration has been doing for 20 years. The administration needs to be ridiculed as publicly as possible and they need to take a hit in the pocket book. If changes don't happen ND football will die a slow death.

How much longer do you think ND can go being a mediocre football program before they hit the point of no return? If ND ever loses it's NBC contract that will be the beginning of the end. They'll be forced to join a conference and then we'll be no different than every other 8 win school.

Like I said, short term pain for long term gain.

It means people are demanding accountability from folks.

kelly is sabotaging the whole football program. He's inept.

I'll agree on coaching changes but anyone can question decision making and look right 100% of the time.

So ND has been mediocre. 16 was horrendous but 15 and 12 excellent. The others some very good and some mediocre. Overall not mediocre.
As for the brand, believe me they have zero issues here. Want to dislike them and take you business elsewhere go right ahead. ND will not miss you.

How is he sabotaging the program. He's made mistakes yes but the program as a whole is better than prior to him arriving

'15 was excellent?!?! Well I suppose by the standards of the last 20 years it was. 2015 is what most years at ND should be like.

As for 2012 everyone outside of ND was calling us lucky to be there. They said we weren't that good.. and guess what Bama proved them correct. I've said it before, Manti was Kelly's Cam Newton... without him ND doesn't sniff the NC game.

Hey, in another thread it was suggested that ND has strong armed the locals... any truth to that?

There could be an inside play which delays things a bit, but it looks like there will be an "end around" it.

Where is it better? weis was within a bush push of NC consideration. Despite his ineptitude that gave me hope that we could still get the guns. He attended major bowls 40% of his tenure.

Recruiting:
2006 ND 8
2007 ND 8
2008 ND 21
2009 ND 2
2010 ND 14
2011 ND 10
2012 ND 20
2013 ND 3
2014 ND 11
2015 ND 11
2016 ND 12

What was the highest ranked team we beat in '15?

So even the years of prosperity are flawed. Got it. You hate BK, you hate JS. Are you even an ND fan or just a fan of the good years.

It was fun until week 11. The we had the bc disastrous effort, then Stanford, then osu....

What is flawed is that there is no sustained success. It's year 7 and there have not been back-to-back 10 win seasons. In an era where teams play 14 games 10 wins should be minimum. Also, every time ND has played in a major bowl they have not only lost, they have been embarrassed.

A successful program isn't one that wins 10 games twice a decade.

Interest and funding will die if this is 60-90 days out. Might as well wait until next season and launch an aggressive campaign if we stumble again.

That's a total projection by me/guesstimate. It could be totally wrong, but I am guessing that they'll want to run it while the campus is in full swing. The $ are there....time is short...still a window for now...

"but the program as a whole is better than prior to him arriving"
Again, where is it better?

Right now it stands at 38-31.... no major bowl wins...sanctioned, cheating, arrests, you name the crap we've got it.

Please find any top 25 game statistic for his tenure.

I'll spot you the defense in 2012....

So the vacated wins were really never played.
