This is a byproduct of Brey's "no coaching let the players run everything" system .... when ND has better players this is not a problem .... I'm not sure Penn St. is that much better .... but to stop ND you have to stop Farrell .... When the other team has a player that can check him we're screwed .... Brey never has a plan B or has the ability to run plays to get his key players loose .... Farrell and the rest of the team were left to problem solve Penn St's defense on their own
