I went to turn on the World Series game last night and It just so happened that my TV was set to ESPN. When I turned it on and an interview with PJ Fleck had just started on the College Football Playoff Top 25 show.

I don't know much about Fleck but have seen his name thrown around here often so I have looked into his career a bit. I will say that he was awesome in his interview last night. He was extremely well spoken and his enthusiasm was felt through the TV. I couldn't help but feel that this guy is an amazing motivator of players. As the interview went on it was clear through the questions being asked that this guy is known as motivator. It was also clear that he has coached in some capacity under some pretty impressive coaches throughout his career. Said he still has notes from years ago that he wrote down when he liked certain things that coaches were saying or doing.

If this guy can COACH football as well as he talks about it then the combination of that and his clear ability to be a motivator might be the perfect recipe for him to be extremely successful at a big time program like Notre Dame.

I have no doubt that this guy is going to be hired by a big time program very soon. Of course none of us know if he will pan out but I'd hate to see Notre Dame miss out on this guy who is right in their backyard right now ripe for the taking.

Go Irish!!!

He's very, very well thought of within the coaching industry and yes, you're right he will be hired by a big time program. Wish it was us, but... This is the injection of youth and excitement that is needed in this program. It's a young and bold hire. I'm beginning to think Swarbrick doesn't have the courage to move past 8 & 4 at this time. This caliber of product won't change next season either, so look to be having this discussion same time next year.

bad idea to hire someone that has never had HC experience. We done got burned that way once already

So you want to hire BK from 2008? We already did that.
I remember when Urban Meyer was at Utah....The tug of war between fans of Notre Dame and Florida was over the top when the big time programs came calling. This guy was a winner, but Utah was not the proving ground that either of those programs was. He was an up and comer. Look at him now.

Could PJ be any worse ? IF ND losses 8-9 games doe BK get fired ? Jack has some serious thinking . IMO the incoming recruiting class is very soli and that may save his ass.... if players decommitt with every loss and the better players decide to not come then that is a direct hit on BK and staff... players will choose ND because of the school but the coach plays a big part in it.

How do you know Jack hasn't already talked to PJ or his agent? We don't know much. The only thing I do know, is if Jack has watched the games, he has to go, "WTF" when Kelly goes for two early in a game, has a QB shuffle to start this season and leaves one QB in two series too long, has the worst D strategy vs Stanford to end the game and season, throws the ball 292 times in a hurricane, doesn't play his running QB in a hurricane, drives down the field in a hurricane by running and decided to throw 4 straight times in the red zone, keeps his buddy as DC one year too long, pass vs kick vs Tulsa, gets embarrassed by BAMA and OSU, has a horrendous record vs top ranked teams, throws players under the bus, but stood behind his joke of a coordinator, etc, etc.

If Jack doesn't see these and more, he needs to be evaluated.
