Rex missed a driving bank shot to take the lead with 7 seconds left. Etiwanda got the board and was fouled...made both FT's to go up by 3. Pflueger then hit a long 3 for the apparent tie but the refs waived it off saying he was fouled before the shot...MD loses. His season is not over yet, they will still get an at large bid in state tourney going for their 5th Championship in a row. RP had an up and down night, shooting poorly (4-13) but was all over the place, leading the team with 10 boards and some excellent passes resulting in 7 assists. Really good player and I'll say it again, I'll be VERY surprised if he doesn't take over JG's 2 spot next year. SV will stay at 3 and VJ will continue to come off the bench. Many people here think there is no way VJ doesn't start but RP will be able to provide more quickness on D, seems to go to the glass much harder and most importantly, he can handle the ball and will be a better 2/1 combo than SV which will allow DJ to continue to play off the ball some.
