Pete Thamel Reporting Gino Guidugli To ND....

Great get…. Shocked he’s coming just for qb gig, plan must be for him to take over OC role after we hopefully hire home run that won’t stay long.

Unless this means Parker is choice as OC because a different OC probably would want say in QB coach.

Now I don’t know what to think. He’s more qualified than Parker

It’s going to be some type of unofficial co offensive coordinators with Parker & Guidugli. Who in the hell hires a QB coach before OC? Assbackwards as always Savvy

If Gerad Parker is named OC then it makes sense.

My assumption is, while not official, maybe a "co" OC (in name only) to help with Parker (assuming he is the next OC).

After all the fiasco of the last few days, it is time to get the ship settled and moving forward. At least, this was a positive step.

positive if it's NOT combined with parker. Gino isn't good enough to be OC and Parker isn't either. Two not good enough candidates for OC don't equal a great one.

ND isn’t willing to pay for a proven, experienced OC. It’s pretty simple. Savvy has no idea how to conduct business. No major football program would balk at the buyout.

Savvy is not so savvy when it comes to hiring staff.

Bullshit. The buyouts could have been a combined 4-million for the OC and OL guy, then you have to pay them a combined 3-million or so to coach. Paying that kind of money just to buy them out....for position coaches, many would balk.

Never heard this once as an issue with Alabama or Georgia and they have gotten higher desired coaches over the years

We saving over 2 mil a year with MF as coach and not BK at least. And you have TR buyout money. There's plenty of money

Bullshit. 4-million in combined buyouts for position coaches?

If the money is so affordable, you write the check.

Absolutely, ND is bleeding cash right now. Only 18.9 Billion endowment. It would be like Mark Cuban buying a Yugo

TR buy-out money ?

How much did Alabama pay ND ?

This is a good hire.

Yes it points to parker being hired as OC. This isn't a sexy pick but let's not hold the administrations mistake against the guy. It could be a master stroke.

Now we need to find an ol coach, and this is now a very important hire

Do you EVER look at things in a positive light? I don't recall Freeman or anyone else asking for your insights, so, I will defer to him at this point.

The only way to judge this will be in the fall, when results are known.

CJ Carr is going to be a highschool senior.. has NFL aspirations ... great bloodline.. and he likes G Parker, and would be good with him being the OC. The new QB coach is far better than TR (no offense) .... as I am sure TB, minchey, and Sam H are as well... these are the kids that have to play for them... Marcus Freeman is a winner.. 2023 will be better than 2022... would not be surprised with 10-2... 11-1... 12-0... 😊😎

That money is nothing to Notre Dame

You're a joke
ESPN reports that you are correct...the money was nothing to ND and they were more than willing to pay what it took to get him here...he balked at moving...

You're welcome...

Then you would know that the 18.9 Billion i quoted was pretty damn close, smart ass punk
Okay tough guy. ;) 😂 Notre Dame's operating budget for the fiscal year 2021–22 is $1.5 billion, and the market value of its endowment is approximately $13.3 billion. As for 2022 Universities with smaller endowments were less likely to release information on their returns. A spokesperson for the University of Notre Dame, for example, declined to provide those data and noted figures would be available in January as part of an annual report.

whatever, the numbers are all over the place. WGAF, $13 billion or 18 billion, does it really matter? When you are talking $3-5 million so what? Its like you and i arguing over a $25 or $50 steak

That made laugh.
