I know a lot of guys on here like to criticize BK (or they just don't like him), but we need to lock this guy down for a long time.

Who would of thought we would be 9-1 ten games in this year with a new, young QB? 9-1 with a young team, with a lot of injuries playing a fairly tough schedule.

A lot of people have very high, unrealistic expectations for ND, but BK has built a very good program here that is only getting better. It is time we pay that man his money.

Can't wait to hear the usual guys cry about how bad he is (if you do, please offer a better replacement).

My biggest criticism of Kelly has been his seemingly lackadaisical attitude toward, and inconsistent results recruiting. But after this year, after half of our roster (3rd man off the bench) playing like elite D1 talent, i have complete faith that Kelly's talent prognosticating skills & talent development skills are good enough to overcome his lack of ability to attract the interest of five star talent.

Kelly deserves to be the highest paid coach -- representative of coaching the 2nd highest grossing college program -- in a billion dollar industry!

The guys who criticize him know nothing about football. Brian Kelly is just further evidence that when ND hires a Head Coach that has had success at multiple stops. Leahy, Ara, Devine, Holtz & Kelly. It means he

A. Knows what he's doing
B. Will be successful at ND.

As long as ND stays away from moderately successful guys like Willingham and rookies like Davie and Weis. ND will win football games and lots of them.

I caught myself getting mad about the Clemson game ( going for two..... Turnovers..... Play call on the last 2pt try) and than I realized I predicted an 8-4 regular season before the season started, and before I knew we would get bit by the injury bug.

It is impressive we are 9-1 with a good shot at the final 4.

I think you would be surprised how well Kelly is paid. I know there has been lots of talk on here that he is paid like 20 percent of Saban or whomever, but I think these pay packages are very complex and secretative.

One could argue that Saban and Meyer are better coaches. No one else in CFB today is better.

People seem to forget that Kelly only has the opportunity to recruit about 50% of the top players because his kids actually have to have an academic record and the ability to compete academically at Notre Dame.

He does a very good job, on and off the field.

We should be about done paying Weiss and Willingham so that should free up some money lol!

I do think he is a very well respected HC. He appears to be more in control of his emotions now then when he first started at ND. He has taken the Irish to the title game. The other seasons have been very "unlucky" . He easily could have been a 10 game winner every season. My only complaint is his Red Zone offense. Just do not like the play calling there. Overall I would give him a solid B as a HC with a team on the rise for 2016. ND makes the playoffs and becomes a B+.. .

Look.at the B1G and the SEC. They are paying insane amount for assistant coaches. If you add what Kirby Smart the Alabama DC and Lane Kiffin the Alabama OC make. They are way north of what Brian Kelly gets paid. And more than the entire ND assistant coach staff.

The same is true at other schools as well

Having said that it drives me mad his red zone play calling and formations. Its like when he runs out of room he over complicates it.
Too many empty sets ....gggrrrrr!!!!

When another team is loading the box....it's ok to bring the tight end back as an "H" back and have a legit power running game.

Aside from that he has the program clicking.

Like I said, if you are going to cry... please offer who you think would be a better replacement. Not just yet. Before anyone accuses me of being a Kelly hater, I'm the guy who started a thread last week saying this is Kelly's best season coaching yet. If I'm AD I want to see consecutive great seasons before I extend his contract. Until he can put together at least 2 seasons of 10 wins I would not extend his contract.

How do you know we are not already "paying" him? Nobody really knows ho much he makes.

You are right, I honestly do not know how much BK is making compared to others. I just know, I have not heard or read about him signing a nice long contract. Does anyone have an idea?

Who knows, but Kelly himself has recently said that, due to it's intense pressure, the ND job
isn't suited for long term employment. He didn't see a coach staying in that position for over 10 years. And he's already been here six, so draw your own conclusions.

In yesterday's teleconference he said, "Who in college football has a better job than me?" I really believe that Notre Dame is his last coaching job. He consistently mentions retiring young enough to enjoy his family. I'm in favor of giving the entire coaching staff a nice raise. They deserve it.

Brian Kelly is currently 33 games over .500 in less than 6 years. During those 17 years ND once (2002) was in National Title Contention. During those 17 seasons ND won double digit games twice (2002 and 2006) ND wins Saturday night that will be double digit wins twice in 4 years.
