Over Rated
Baylor: terrible defense, gave up 31 points to Lamar (never heard of them).
Ohio St: they are a good team just not top ten IMHO.
LSU: Slightly in my opinion, Great running back, until he faces a run stuffing defense.

Under Rated
Oklahoma: Lots of talent, they are better then there 17 ranking IMHO.
Stanford: Dismantled UCLA, they would beat Ohio St. easily IMHO
Notre Dame: They are the best team in the nation....I wish :) (i didn't see anyone else that stood out so I picked my irish)
What do you guys think ? discuss. GO IRISH !!!!!
 
I thought Oklahoma would be Overrated. Have not beat one ranked team and got beat by an atrocious Texas team.

Hard to argue against OSU being undefeated and defending champions. Who would you have as #1 if not OSU and Baylor? Utah?

I would say that Florida State is Overrated at #9, I expect Iowa to lose a game sooner or later. Toledo and Temple probably wont end the year in the top 25.
 
Ohio St. is a good team, the best team i have seen is Alabama ( I HATE THEM ). Ohio St, is only #1 because they are defending champs. Stanford is impressive too. Just my opinion.
 
I missed Fla St.....defiantly over rated. Golson has NO turnovers ! It figures...ugh.

All Big 12 teams use defense as an afterthought - not just Baylor. That being said, they would be tough to beat,
as they can score at will.

I don't know about under/over rated, but I have a feeling Michigan, Oklahoma and UF are going to be the catalyst for Playoff wackiness as the season goes on.

Trust me, Baylor isn't overrated. You need to flip Oklahoma and Baylor and you'll look more credible.

Meyer usually has his teams peak late in the season, for playoffs or Bowls. Crunch time.

Yea I'd have Oklahoma as overrated.
I'd also have Iowa as underrated. They've got some quality wins including two tough road wins. Their schedule gets weaker as the season so they have a real shot to play in the b1g title. Despite all this they are ranked behind a number of 1 loss teams.
 
Don't understand the hate for Baylor. They have put up 50 points in every game they have played. Who cares if they don't have a great defense, if they have the most high octane offense in the country. They can score on almost any play. If your secondary makes the wrong move 1 time it is a 50+ yard TD. Add to that their rushing yards. And they are a big problem for anyone.

They are ranked:
1st in total offense
2nd in rush offense (not a typo I meant rushing)
6th in passing offense
1st in team passing efficiency
1st in scoring offense

39th in rushing defense
66th in team passing defense efficiency
62nd in total defense

Yes the numbers a skewed a little due to a terrible OOC schedule. But make no mistake. That team is fast. And I think they are superior to TCU. They are beatable (everyone this year is). But they aren't some push over that is over rated.

The question will be how well can they stand up in the playoff when the opponent has weeks to scheme against them.
 
Alafreekinbama is so over rated it makes me sick. OlMiss puts 43 on their defense then gets smoked by Memphis who is unfefeated and still ranked behind bama. Why? The eye test. You must be blind.
 
Baylor is not overrated. I think they would favored against anyone right now. Osu is because if they played any kind of a real schedule they would have 2 losses. Enough of this bs of play well at the end of the year. Every other team doesn't get an 8 week bye schedule to "figure things out". Screw osu
 
Now I remember why i stopped posting. I don't hate Baylor or EG....geez. If you disagree, that's cool. Some of you need to relax. I thought it was ironic how EG stopped turning the ball over on another team, and yes Baylor is overrated playing teams like Lamar, Rice and a terrible Kansas team.....are you kidding me ! Are they top 10...I would say barely, but #2.....noway !

this time last season tOSU was 'over rated'

Yep, and if you've watched them the last couple of weeks, they're starting to "kick it into gear." Their problem all year has been red zone scoring and they're 12 for 12 in the red zone the last couple of weeks with the read-option really starting to click again (JT Barrett)..
 
Baylor is an offensive machine. Briles is a very good coach. I do think that Baylor may not have the depth of other programs so they need to stay healthy. Baylor defense ??
Ohio State - They are a contender
BAMA - A&M gave them gifts on Saturday, but they are always a factor
LSU - Awesome RB and many great players but do they have a QB?
Mich St, Utah - Having great year but will not win it all
FL St - Have not been following them

That was one bad game that did have some fluke plays in it.

How many teams would you put money on to straight up beat Alabama on a neutral field? How many teams RIGHT NOW would be favored on a neutral field against them? Any?

Now, the discussion about who belongs in the playoffs is different because even if it's just a game, it counts because it happened. The question then becomes: is the committee picking the BEST teams or the ones most deserving based on what's happened on the field? A team could have one or even two losses due to certain circumstances and STILL be better than a team with ZERO losses.

I think LSU is overrated and wouldn't be surprised if it lost 2-3 more times this season.
 
FSU is terribly over rated and has played one team ranked in the Power 100 this year and will likely lose to the two decent teams they play as the season progresses despite the tremendous success of ND's second team QB.

36-1 is a direct result of playing a poor schedule and "winning" games because of poor calls by referees.

FSU is disgraceful on and off the field.

Golson had no turnovers and played really well for Notre Dame last year too - through the first seven games.
Then the wheels fell off.

No one is saying he's not capable. He's just inconsistent.

What's that say about ND blind one? FSU's 36-1 is a direct result of great recruiting, superior talent and player development. All a result of GREAT coaching. Deal with it envious one.

FSU's strength of schedule finished 22 last year. Undefeated regular season .....AGAIN. ND's in the 30's. Undefeated? No so much. AGAIN.

TALKING nonsense about SOS before the season is over is for losers and you of all people should know that. Other than Clemson how many teams with a winning record has ND played? How many ranked today? Thank God you still have Temple, Pitt and Stanford. Doubt seriously offensive juggernauts Wake or BC will help much.

Looks like Jimbo is coaching up that second team ND QB pretty nicely. No INT's or fumbles half way through the season. Undefeated.

Take a couple of Advils and get back with me. Your headaches are curable. It's the short bus mentality that is beyond help.
