Had to bring some positive news to the board this morning. My one year old nephew was born with a hole in his heart last year. The doctors refrained from doing surgery at the time in hopes that it could heal itself and close. Months went by and while progress was made, it seemed the closure had plateaud. It was looking like it bought him some time and ability to develop a bit before needing to have surgery, but it was still likely he would need to have it eventually. He just had his visit with the cardiologist today and the hole is now effectively healed up. The doctor said it should be fully closed within the next couple months and he now will never need to have surgery.
I’m in tears as I write this. Couldn’t be more thankful that our prayers have been answered. In a year filled with so much fear, illness, death and overall negativity, this is a huge win for our family. Feel free to add any other positive news happening in your world so I don’t hog it all.
