Points to NDs victory over Clemson as to the evidence that he recruits well. Also cites "top 10 recruiting classes at ND" despite that only happening once or twice in his 12 years here šŸ˜

Several other BK responses in this interview that come off like subtle digs at ND (in my opinion).

How many more BK threads are going to be started on this forum. The guy is gone,

He was a complete ass the way he left ND.

He had ZERO major bowl wins.

His record vs top 10 teams was atrocious.

He got completely outcoached and schooled in 2 playoff games and the BCS NC.

There was ZERO improvement from 2012 BCS to the 2 CFP games.

If as he says he recruited well, then it was clearly a coaching deficiency that he couldn't win big games. Not just the games vs top 5 teams, but vs Michigan, Miami, Cincinnati, etc. He benefitted from extremely soft schedules the last few years.

He points to ND beating Clemson this year, and it took a different coach to winning that game with "HIS" players.

He's gone, GOOD RIDDANCE!!

Good stuff, Thank You. I do not hear the subtle digs. No biggy.

I time stamped the video (below) where I thought there were digs at ND:
Paraphrasing his quote: I went to a place where we can win championships (suggesting that ND limited his potential). He also takes credit for the Clemson win smh

What is he supposed to say after leaving? It's far easier to win at LSU than it is in South Bend. Notre Dame indeed has limited potential relative to the the upper echelon of the SEC. That's no mystery.

Yeah, the recruiting comment was a dig. Most definitely. The biggest one was at the end. For a coach, an incredibly successful and sterling coach like BK, to be as actively, vocally reviled as BK was by ND's awful fans, the part where he said how you want to be at a place where you're needed, that was the big one. That was kind of the poignant one....

LOSER. He won NOTHING at ND. Thanks for bringing ND just short of the goal line. See ya!!

The ā€œlimited potential...ā€ in South Bend relative to the upper echelon of the SEC is the same reason Urban Meyer chose Florida 15 years ago.

There you are! Dude's probably going to win his 4th national COY award, if they win these next two games.

While you truly are a miserable hater wallowing in your own squalor. Seriously, that's a fair statement about fans like you.
All self absorbed accolades. Lol, he could give two shits about his players.
I could care less about BK. He's gone, I'm an ND fan, not sure why you BK apologists keep bringing him up on an ND forum. He didn't win squat, even his winningest coach at ND title can be questioned due to vacated wins.

If you want to discuss BK, there are plenty of LSU forums available for you and the rest of the apologists to sign up for Adios!!

You're a disturbed little man. You really are. It's not just some throwaway insult to say you should seek help. You never had any reason at all other than your own personal effed-up inner demons to have anything against BK. And not only is he having the last laugh, he's absolutely smearing it in the face of ND's wretched hater fanbase. And you seemingly have no sense of embarrassment about it. Though that's not really true, if LSU was say, 5-5 right now, you would be gloating over it up and down the block. What we see of you today, where you still won't STFU about it, is like the humbled, chastened version of you.....

At least Brian Kelly tried. Gave it 12 years.

Urban Meyer didnā€™t even try.

You are a LOSER. I could care less what you think of me. I really don't have time for your gibberish. Let me be clear when I say this

Brian Kelly is NO LONGER the COACH at ND. HE LEFT, ADIOS!! This is a Notre Dame forum, NOT a Brian Kelly forum. There is no need to keep bringing Brian Kelly into the conversation on this forum, it does nothing for this forum and most of the members DON'T CARE about Brian Kelly, except for the handful of apologists including yourself.

I donā€™t take what he said as a swipe. What else is he suppose to say ? He was a good coach at ND. Iā€™ll give him his due. 2 playoffs and a national championship appearance. Better than any coach since Lou. But he was also average his first five years. Not bad but not great. As far as recruiting , he did ok. I donā€™t think many classes were top ten. One or two ? Most were top 15. I also think if he believes ND held him back, well he actively wanted the job. ND will never sell out to win football. He knew that. It is what it is. Itā€™s much easier to recruit at LSU. Thatā€™s a given. But , you can get top players at ND. It may be harder but it can be done. So for me Kellyā€™s comments are no big deal.

Urban would have been a legend here
Didn't try.

Urban wanted the upper echelon of the SEC......like Florida, where admission to school and attending class is not as big a priority as it is in South Bend, and the path to the NFL for top players is far less stringent.
