Should be the top 4 teams. Notre Dame drops after a second game of crap in a row. There's no way this team will beat Stanford next week

The only thing that might hold OU back is the loss to TX. ND handled TX and OU lost to them. I don't see how the committee puts OU over ND but then again who knows. I do think Iowa moves ahead of us with MSU possibly jumping us also.

Stop yourself. Dumb post. You're saying that Iowa's home win over Purdue is going to catapult them over us? No chance.

ND is going to beat Stanford next weekend. Kelly and co will be playing on NYE, in Miami or Arlington. Sorry haters......ND is playoff bound!

348 I do agree with you, but Iowa has become the underdog team this year and they are getting a lot of love from the media. Well except from Cowherd, I don't think he can step foot in the state of Iowa anymore. Of course the committee has shown they don't bow to pressure, we shall see.

Oklahoma 17, Texas 24
Notre Dame 38, Texas 3

(Our only loss is to #1 Clemson by 2 -- lost on the last play of the game -- in a monsoon, after 4 turnovers.)

Oklahoma shouldn't have lost to Texas. No matter how good their recent history, they got beat by a team we absolutely crushed!

MSU has the best resume as far as wins. 1 bad loss, but so does OU. I say MSU trumps OU. Ohio State will still be in top ten, Michigan somewhere between 10 and 12 and Oregon may be in the top 20, if not top 25. A 1 point controversial loss on the road to Nebraska. According to the rankings, MSU has more impressive wins than anyone including Alabama.

The Big Ten Conf Championship game will be Iowa vs OSU or MSU or Michigan..
ND will not in top 4 for playoff. ND will be in # 6 or # 5 for final 4 playoff.

Michigan state should be in top 4 and in the end, notre dame resume will be better than oklahoma. Clemson, stanford, navy will all play in a bcs bowl game.

If they study iowa's schedule they see MANY close wins over poor teams........I think ND stays in.

You mean like beating Northwestern 40-10 on the road, a team that beat Stanford which ND is pinning its hopes on as their only real signature win of the season if it happens?

Thats one game but lets look at who ND will have beaten and who OU will have beaten:
ND: Stanford, Navy, Temple, Pitt, USC
OU: Baylor, OSU, TCU, WVU, Texas Tech, Tennessee

The best win ND can hope for is over a 3 loss Stanford. Yes, Navy has had a decent year but hanging your playoff hopes on Navy is really a huge stretch. Its not even close who has the more impressive wins.

ou should have lost with a backup QB and wr. That is not going to help them that much. If Patterson had played scratch instead of going for 2 ou is eliminated. Its very clear that the big 12 is over rated by a backloaded schedule.

I agree with most of your post, I'm not sure how good they are, but, defiantly would be a close vote

Okie st will beat the sooners next week and i like nebraskas chances against Iowa. Lastly don't count out Penn st against msu. The talking heads kept saying the Wake win was a bad win yet ND beat Wake by 21 and Clemsen beat Wake by 20. Plus anyone who knows fb knew BC would give ND it's best. Not to mention they have the #1 defense. Tne committee will give ND the be benifitt of a doubt. At least these are my thoughts right or wrong. Having said all that i am not confident of a win overStanford. I give it 50/50

er msu. There is still a lot of fb to be played. One more point NBC'

S talking heads kept talking about ND's bad win over Wake. I might point out that ND beat Wake by 21 and Clem

ND will move up to #3 this week. IF the Irish can beat Stanford on the road they can beat anyone. It will take better effort than the last two games. Kelly needs to find the Pitt game plan for Stanford.

Still ALOT of football to play. All top 4 could be out........unc can beat clemson........bama could lose........osu gone.......okie will lose to okie st.......iowa can lose........all that matters is beating the trees!!!

After watching the total collapse against a terrible team, what makes anyone believe that the Stanford game is a W? Giving up huge plays, missed tackles, Red Zone miseries, and stupid stupid turnovers won't fly next week. If you are completely honest with yourself, look at the teams that are trending up and ask yourself if the Irish can compete. Don't even try to spin last night as a wake up call win. The Texas game was almost three months ago. Blame injuries if you want but the same lads you watched last night are the same ones you are expecting to play beyond their capabilities against real contenders. And, this defense is not final four quality anyway. They just are not. ND took a huge step backward in Fenway.

ND will be number 3 on Tuesday.

A win will keep them there a loss will make them 10-2 with a very good bowl game ahead.

Beat TheTree!

Iowa will lay an egg like Wisconsin did to last year in the Championship game!! They have ZERO chance against MSU, Michigan or OSU! OU Barely beat TCU which was playing without top WR in the country, 3rd string QB and multiple other starters

I understand this is subjective but you guys are very misinformed if you think ND is guaranteed a spot of they win. Of the 23 computer polls only 5 have them in the top 4 and compositely Oklahoma is ahead of them. A win over oklahoma state looks no worse than a win over Stanford too.

Go back to the rock you crawled out from under. I'm sure after Tuesday night we will not be seeing you around here either. ND is not going anywhere as long as we keep winning!

10-1 must be killing you OP.

Cowherd, is he still around? You can't find him anywhere, even if you had a search party looking for him! Nice career move.

if you count the controversial loss you have to consider a fluke victory where Michigan handled them all game. can't have it both ways.

and barely beating a pitt team at home that nd throttled at pitt despite the final score which hardly told the tale.

really ? texas tech, west Virginia ? the whole conference is mediocre. no one plays defense.

what collapse ? bc did nothing to stop nd last night. nd was its own worst enemy. uncharacteristic poor decisions by the qb. multiple fumbles by players who have proven to be reliable all year and bad drops by one of the best receivers in America. a sloppy game for sure but wins are what matter most an thankfully coaches and players don't have the luxury to dwell on them. leave that to the segment of fans who despite the victory, the 10-1 record and the very real possibility of making the 4 team playoff would prefer to focus on all the negative things and can't seem to enjoy the season and how it's playing out.

Navy would beat Baylor, OSU, TCU -- they don't play defense and Navy would just eat them up. Grind it out and control the ball and the clock.

Perfectly said. The fact that ND will be playing on New Years Eve, in a playoff game, is absolutely killing the OP.

10-1. Gonna be 11-1. See you in Texas or Miami on NYE!!!!

TS Eliot once said that humankind cannot bear very much reality. Uncharacteristic bad decisions, sloppy play, WR drops, turnovers created by bad decisions and defensive techniques employed over and over, Red Zone miseries...........that is the very definition of a team collapse and the saving grace from last night is it was BC and not Stanford. The BC game was supposed to be a showcase statement game for the committee and the nation to see. A statement was made alright. With all the injuries, 10 - 1 is remarkable but over the last two weeks, this team is trending down. Eleven games in and last night's mistakes should never happen. You should be gearing up and playing your best ball right now. Last night wasn't even close.

If not for the turnovers ND would have rolled BC last night by 30 points. BK will clean things up. But losing CJ and Russell is going to leave a mark. That hurts like hell.

Assuming neither Sparty nor the Hawkeyes lose next weekend, I think the winner of the Big Ten CCG will get a spot. That would leave Oklahoma on the outside looking in.

Yet we moved up one in the coaches poll! hmmmmmmmmmm.... Maybe you should count your blessings.

Please look to everyone's darling OSU (who had not played ONE RANKED OPPONENT) before getting beaten AT HOME, ON SENIOR DAY by a team whose starting QB is out (and a team who lost to a mediocre Nebraska (see: BC.)

What have you been watching? Stanford will pound Kelly's bunch. Cbk can't handle the pressure. Homerism won't work in Palo Alto.
