Gavin Mueller finished his first season of high school football as a junior last fall. The Irish have seen enough to extend Mueller, a three-star tight end from South Elgin (Ill.) High, a scholarship offer. Mueller reported his offer Thursday after a conversation with Notre Dame offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Mike Denbrock.
Mueller camped at Notre Dame last June and returned for an unofficial visit in July. The Irish joined an offer list that includes the like of Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
