No Bryant

What would the professor not have in order?

Academic dishonesty is different then not making grades.

I found this interesting, former ND CB Terrail Lambert posted this regarding the Bryant suspension; Which is why I really believe I will probably never see ND win another NC in my lifetime unless ND changes a LOT. For the record, I'm not complaining or criticizing the administration, just stating my opinion.. at any rate, here is what Lambert had to say;

"In all honest truth, maintaining good academic standing at ND was one of the most challenging experiences in my life. So many times I wanted to transfer because I knew I'd easily have a 3.0 gpa or better anywhere else. I made it out by the skin of my teeth. Countless nights I stayed up until 3:00 am or later only to wake up 2 hours later for winter conditioning and practice. With that said, I think the administration needs to be more proactive in getting these guys more academic support. I guarantee you if made a regular student spend a week as an athlete and cut their study time in half they would have a new found respect what we gotta go thru. It'd be hard anywhere...let alone a Notre Dame."

Can't say i disagree with you, Java....I think the demands are just too high for ND to be more than an occasional contender.

First, I agree with Java; and therefore you also.
Secondly, can you define 'occaisional contender'? Is that a Top 10? or 15? or ?

What really sux is if ND loses a game - any game shit heads like purse24 K will come on here and say it is on Kelly

If ND had Williams Russell Daniels ( academics ) and Schmidt stayed healthy they would have run the table

Investigate the Professor. Make sure they have everything on order.

All of these academic casualties over the last three years are African american. Is their a disconnect with the university here?

are you saying that the Prof in African Studies is "white"?

No what would suck is ND losing a game. I could not care less about the coach. I don't care if the coach is Kelly, Weis, Ty or whomever. I want a coach that wins as many games as possible and runs a clean program. I have no attachment to the coach.

Went to ND and graduated not St. Mary's like you.

Check out his profile: he graduated from ND in 1978. I graduated from ND in 1992. You, on the other hand, I seriously doubt graduated from high school, let alone ND. I suspect you're yet another one of our regular trolls masquerading as an ND alum.

People look at this really solid troll attempt here and learn...

1. He adopts a terrible position with little backing and just makes declarative statements that are exaggerations of the truth at best but really disingenuous characterizations of the truth.

2. Based on his extensive posting history with this handle (6 posts) people believe he is dumb enough to actually think what he is saying is true and are going to take him seriously.

3. In taking him seriously many will think to themselves either (a) "this hoosier dipshit is trying to shit of ND I will show him" or (b) "this hoosier dipshit is so stupid he needs to be educated, I will show him" and either way he will get responded two.

4. To continue to fuel the fire he will post something that is not really responsive to anything that has been posted in reaction to his original post and is either him doubling down on his initial stupid post or will be just unique enough that it hits on something new but either way we will go back to step 1.

I have argus and all of his handles and Nole on ignore. I wish everyone would try it. (this argus thing has been going on for years)

There is nothing terrible or wrong about my position in Notre Dame football. My position is that the problem with the program is a systemic problem at the administration level.

There is no way that ND can be a consistent threat in CFB with the demands that the program is faced with. Its just not possible. Mallory and Wadsworth made sure of that. Heck, ND can't finish a season in the top TWENTY save the 2012 miracle run, let alone a top five or top 10 team. You saw what Lambert wrote. Its impossible.

So as much as we are already used to 8-4 and 7-5, we may as well continue to expect that going forward. Its sad because without football, ND is just another small private school in the Midwest.

To tell you the truth I, personally, could care less about a players grades off the field. I am more interested in wins on the field and the players not committing crimes off the field.
But I get why many fans believe in the players getting a good education is important so I can't argue.

I don't buy it. I have never seen you say one single positive thing about Notre Dame. You bad mouth ND every chance you can.
As for me, I'm ND class of 1978.
The Class of '78 had many many legends. I bet your reunions are terrific.

There are trolls and then there are trolls. Persons like this poster are particularly disgusting, coming over here pretending that they are ND fans, and then trying to paint a picture of racial tension at ND. Guys like this are truly the lowest of the low.

Their success is our success which will make the USA even greater with all these talented and educated young people entering the world after college. Truth be told, I am happy to read about success stories from our young people , whether they be ND or FSU.

You are clueless......

I guesss I would describe occasional contender as what we haven the past 20 years. 2000? Pretty good team got destroyed by Oregon State in bowl; 2005? Pretty good team, but got exposed in bowl; 2012? pretty good team annihilated in bowl.

Its been a pretty lousy 20 years. ND hasn't been an occasional contender. They were once in 2012 and got curb stomped by a true contender. They did not belong in that game in all honesty.

Is that what you want? Is that what you want ND to stand for in CFB over another 20 year time frame?

More revisionist history from Brian Davidson. Of course ND belonged in the game. ND was ranked # 1 in the country.

Games like the Alabama game are why ND has no street credit and why people snicker when you mention them.

When Indiana fans are making fun of your team on their board during a game, you kbiw its a humiliating situation.

ND just can't compete with big boy football. I'm afraid its a relic of the past

More BS from this moron. ND was in the NC game just three seasons ago---but ND can't compete with the big boys. Do you realize how idiotic that sounds?

Lok how did they compete against Big Boy Bama?

Here's the fallacy of your argument, dumbass. The year before, LSU lost to Bama by 21 in the BCSCG game. After the 2006 season, Florida beat Ohio St. 41-14. After the 2004 season, USC beat Oklahoma 55-19. You are obviously too stupid to appreciate that whether one deserves to be in a game has to be determined before the game.

So by your logic, when USC smoked Oklahoma in the BCS championship, Oklahoma shouldn't have " street credit" as you put it.

tkirish

the target of these posts aside, given recent years administrative and academic turmoils, there are a lot of fans, both ND fans and other college football fans starting to wonder if football wise, ND isn't a ’was thing rather than an is thing'.
This season is critical to avoiding the growing impression that it is the former.

The Irish football program is just fine. You don't like it you can always root for Alabama. Roll Tide.

I get your point. I don't even dispute what the current perception of the football program is. I think it's ridiculous to say ND can't compete with the big boys because they lost by a large margin to Bama in the championship. Did they not beat Oklahoma? Did they not beat USC? They basically best FSU except for a BS call at the very end of the game. I am not making excuses. Bama smoked them. At the same time they beat some pretty darn good football teams. Do I think ND can string together 4 or 5 ten or more win seasons like they use to? Probably not. It is harder for them due to the limits on recruiting they put on themselves. Academics comes first. That won't change. But I do feel they can play with the big boys. They may not win those games all the time, but they will win their share. I think being a run team first is how they win a lot of games. Without a dominant defense, a running game, if very good, can help your team better than trying to out score every team. Just my opinion.
