Perse- I agree it was amazingly poor judgment and just not a smart way to handle the situation. It confuses me because half the time through the process JW's pr people had him saying the right things and doing the right things in preparation for the draft. That photo and the ESPN interview are just mind numbingly bad PR moves that do not make sense to me. I just don't see who was disrespected by it.

Questioning Winston's past displays of immaturity is legit and understandable but questioning his work ethic, film study, ability to learn the playbook and FB IQ shows you don't really know anything about Winston. He's been complimented by those who know him, coaches at every level and teammates for his off-the-charts work ethic and study habits.

PS I was with Cam McD at 2 private workouts recently. He's looking pretty solid and has had private workouts with the Cowboys and the Texans this past month. I think he can help a team. He runs the first 10 yards like a bullet. PS He is the proud father of a beautiful little girl Emori born April 5 or 4?.... She is beyond beautiful.
I wasn't questioning his FB IQ, only his maturity and work ethic. Now if what you say is true about his work ethic, then maybe he'll be successful. But it seems like he does need to work on his maturity, which relates to leadership as well.

Finally at the 22nd pick there was a trade announced. Cleveland had swapped to move up. "With the 22nd pick of the 2014 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M". Chuckie was beside himself. "THERE WILL BE 21 GENERAL MANAGERS WHO WILL WISH THEY HAD LISTENED TO ME AND THEY WILL ALL BE SORRY THEY PASSED ON THE BESTEST QB SINCE, WELL FOREVER".
How did this prediction work out for old chuckie? You will have to forgive people that actually pay attention to the NFL for laughing at the "advice" and evaluation of gruden.

Comparing Winston to Bowden is absurd. Bowden is a man of unmatched integrity and one of the most respected coaches (and persons) to ever grace this sport. You'd be hard pressed to ever find anyone (other than your two dozen usernames) to say anything negative about the man's character.
