ND's 2016 Defensive Depth Chart

Gael,

100% agreed on that point. ND's O-line recruiting is among the best in the country and for that reason, Kraemer (as good as he is) will likely have a chance to sit and learn on the bench. That's a beautiful thing!
You betcha!

Thanks guys! Great discussion and it has me pumped for next year.

Question: whatever happened to Justin Brent? (Is he the 4th RB this year?)

And... did Kelly ever give Brent's timed 40 (they did that for everyone at the beginning of the season.) Brent has Procise size, right? How about speed? Any chance he blossoms?
I haven't heard a single word about him on the podcast, nor have I read anything about him anywhere. It seems like he is no better than 4th at RB, and that's before the two freshmen get in. I know there's a ton of freshmen coming in the secondary, but Brent seems to have the physique to get a look at safety? He's a heck of an athlete, but maybe he's just more of an athlete than a football player? Just my guess.....

Brent is the #4 RB right now, but he has gotten a little hype during the off-season about making some big plays in practice and on the practice squad

I doubt he sees much, if any, significant PT this year (2016)

But by the 2017 he could be about 6'2", 230lbs and probably runs around a 4.55 in the 40
(and really has even better long speed than he does short-distance burst)

I wouldn't be shocked if he's able to play a role similar to Prosise during his RS Junior (2017) and RS Senior (2018) seasons......though I would be shocked if he was putting up nearly 1,500 total yards in those seasons (as Prosise did in 2015)

He's a high-upside athlete who hasn't been able to find his way onto the field yet, largely due to a lack of focus and effective practice/preparation habits

Probably one of the best threads relative to "actual" discussion about football!

Play him. If he is as good as advertised, he will only be at ND for no more than four years.
